Abd al-Halim Abu Shuqqah

Abd al-Haleem Abu Shuqqah (d.1995) was a great teacher and scholar. He had a real passion to revive the true Islamic spirit in the ummah and dedicated his life to learning and teaching. He taught in Egypt, Syria, Qatar and Kuwait. His particular focus was on Hadith studies.

MUSLIM WOMAN’S ATTIRE AND ADORNMENT

In this volume of his work, the author shows that Islam honours women in all that it makes permissible for a Muslim woman to wear and with what she may adorn herself. Looking carefully at the Muslim society the Prophet (peace be upon him) established in Madinah, the author shows very clearly that the standard practice of female companions of the Prophet was to keep their faces uncovered when they go out. Thus a Muslim woman can attend to all her needs in public and social meetings, without any undue restraint. He further shows that this was the practice of earlier prophets and their communities.
