181 MERCER NEW YORK UNIVERSITY

A 30-foot green wall takes inspiration from the Missouri and Mississippi rivers which flow nearby to form a biophilic centerpiece inside Weil Hall.

In a building that contains residences, gymnasiums, and concert halls, programmatic “neighborhoods” meet at interior crossroads which serve as meeting points with views of the Manhattan skyline.

With a sweeping view of the sculpture garden and campus, the commons is Weil Hall’s “living room.”

Two 20-foot pavilions constructed solely of uninterrupted laminated structural glass provide access to the city’s central transit hub below.

181 Mercer creates a home for NYU’s renowned performing arts program, with space for instruction, practice, rehersal, and performance.

Openable windows and a super-insulated envelope make this 700 bed development tight and efficient, reducing carbon and utility bills for cost-sensitive occupants.

CHARLES DAVID KEELING APARTMENTS UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA SAN DIEGO

This living-learning community at UC San Diego reflects the University’s environmental values in a model that houses 500 students, offering each resident a distinctive, human-scaled home within a large research institution.

BELLES TOWNHOMES FOREST CITY

Both buildings in The Tidelands features ample and lightfilled communal spaces, like a landscaped courtyard with plants that thrive in the coastal climate.

The townhomes prioritize materials that are healthy for humans, including formaldehydefree wood, and carpets, paints, and sealants with no or low volatile organic compounds.

A new aluminum frame in an eyecatching red draw attention to both the building’s original design and the its new function as Class A office, lab, and retail space.

Gardens are everywhere at the embassy, inside and out. Each interior garden is designed to anchor a meeting or conference area, with plantings that evoke American landscapes.
