Thanks to generous community support from local business sponsors, volunteers, participants and survivors, the Avera Race Against Cancer continues to be a leading force in caring for cancer survivors and their families. This year, the Avera Race celebrates a milestone year and is excited to host races in communities across the Avera footprint.

Gone But Not Forgotten

New Tribute Wall Honors Cancer Survivors

Every cancer journey is different and not all end with a cancer-free life. Sometimes, family, friends and acquaintances are left to deal with the loss. As part of the Avera Race’s mission to honor all cancer survivors, we honor those who are no longer with us.

This year, a tribute wall will be on display at the Avera Race Against Cancer in Sioux Falls, S.D., in remembrance of their earthly life. Anyone is invited to send a photograph or note to be placed on the wall. For those who attend the race and do not have a photo or note to share, painted dragonflies will be available to pin on the wall along with a special note.

Thank you to all who have made contributions to support this memorable addition to the Avera Race. Your support helps those who are bravely walking the cancer journey and their loved ones.

Avera Cancer Institute Navigation Center: SHOULD FACE CANCER ALONE

Thanks to the generosity of our communities, funds from the Avera Race Against Cancer have provided vital support for the Avera Cancer Institute Navigation Center. The center is a round-the-clock source of comfort and support to anyone whose life has been touched by cancer.

It provides one-to-one expert services to guide, educate and support patients and their loved ones regardless of where they live or receive care.
