IamdelightedtobethePresident2023-24,ofan outstanding club, the Rotary Club of Pune Baner.Thankyouforthisopportunitygivento servehumanity.I'mgratefultobeamemberof thisclub,andtobeabletofeelthewarmthand compassionthatwehaveforeachother

We are a family with diverse backgrounds and interests that converge to make good things happen. There is a tremendous feeling about being part of something that is bigger than yourself,andthatconnectionyoufeelwhenhelpingsomeone.

As per the Rotary International tradition, The Rotary Club of Pune Baner witnessed the installation ceremony of its new President, Rtn JigneashKarria,onJuly6,2023,atthePoonaclubinPune.Theinstallation ceremonytookplaceamidstglitzanddazzleasRotarians,Anns,visiting Rotarians, Rotary District 3131 officers and many others descended to witnessthePresidentialCollarexchangeceremony PresidentJigneashis precededby Rtn.SatyanarayanKabra,President22-23, who displayed greatleadershipandachievedathreestarrecognitioninRotaryDistrict 3131 for his commendable work. Rtn. Dr.Rajat Chitravanshi was installed as the Secretary and Rtn. Vaishali Zumbre as the Exec. Secretary.Rtn.UnmeshRisboodwasinstalledastheTreasurerforthe year23-24.

ThechiefGuestfortheInstallationwasRtn ManjooPhadke,District Governor23-24,RID3131 CommendingtheworkofRCPBandthenew President,DGManjoosaid,“IamsurethatthetrajectoryofgrowthatRCPB willreachnewerheightsunderthepresidentshipofRtn JigneashKarria” ShealsomentionedthatRCPBhasmaderemarkableworkintheavenuesof YouthandRotaryYouthExchangeasalsomedicalprojects

The Board of Directors, 23-24 was also installed on the day of the installationofPresidentJigneash Thereare14membersinBODotherthan thePresident Also,theclubhasastrongrepresentationattheDistrictlevel with12ofitsmembersbeingDistrictofficers

President Jigneash is ably supportedbyhiswife,FirstLady Rtn. Prreeya Karria, who is also thePresidentNomineeofRCPB Priortotheinstallationceremony, the First Couple commenced the yearwithameetingoftheBoard of Directors on July 1, 2023 On this occasion, the President and the Board members invoked the blessings of Lord Ganapati, the God of new beginnings Rtn Snehal Bhat, Membership director 23-24 recited the pious Ganapti Atharvasheersh stotraon thisoccasion

Rotary is about Service Above Self and we call ourselves “People of Action” AsafellowRotarian,itismygoaltoharnessthegreatenergy, skillsandcompassionthatweallhold.Someofusintheclubareveteran members and carry rich experience.They are like guiding light for the club.

WeRotariansbelievethathappinessismerelyaby-productofusefulnessand assuchwemustfocusonbeinghappy Thus,Isee,ourpurposeasaclub,is tobeuseful,andtobehonourableandcompassionate

We at Rotary have many examples of being useful For instance, our signature medical project, the Epilepsy surgeries project, an upcoming movie making competition, the donation of sanitary pads vending machines, the wonderful club meetings which lead to bonding etc.We havebeforeusnumerousotherunmetneedsandopportunitiestodeliver valuetothecommunityandhumanityatlarge.

Our Membership Director and our Club Trainer help us embrace and informallnewandoldRotarianssothatwearebetterinformedandare productive.

Thisyear,wewillhavefunaswehavesomanysocialeventslinedup.This way,wearesuretoknowandsupporteachothertoagreaterdegree.After all,Rotaryisaplacewherefellowshipbloomsandbondingdeepens. I'mveryexcitedaboutournewRotaryyearandIlookforwardtoourtime together

THREE EPILEPSY SURGERIES CONDUCTED IN JULY 2023

RCPBaner conducted three successful epilepsy surgeries under itssignatureProject 'THEEPILEPSYSURGERIESPROJECT'which waskickstartedinRY2021-22byPPRtn.SanketSaraf.

This year, in the month of July 2023, President Rtn. Jigneash Karria, with a view to carry forward the yeomen work, took up the causeof3successfulEpilepsysurgeries. Thesesurgerieswerecarried outbyDr.NileshKurwaleattheDeenanathMangeshkarHospitaland ResearchCentrePune.

Thesesurgeriesbringanewleaseoflifeforthesepatientsandtheir familiesastheycompletelyreversetheconditionofEpilepsy Thethree patientsoftheseoperationsareaged2years, 6years,and24yearsold respectively

The project cost for these three surgeries is Rs. 15 Lakhs which wascollectedfromvariousdonors. TwomoresurgeriesworthRs.10 lakhsareplannedinthemonthofAugust2023.Furtherdowntheyear, the club plans to continue the efforts towards this signature project whichchangesthelifeofepilepsypatients.

Rtn. Unmesh Risbood receives prestigious RI award

RCPB Club member, Treasure of the Club and the current Dist Exec Secretary, Rtn. Unmesh Risbood was one of the four awardees for the prestigious Avenues of service Award given away by the Rotary International.ThisremarkablehonourwascheeredbytheClubmembersand Rtn UnmeshwasfelicitatedforthesameattheClub'sfirstweeklymeeting heldonJuly21,2023.Hewaspresentedwithaspeciallycraftedcitationon behalfoftheboardofdirectorsandtheClubmembers Thechiefguestonthe occasionwasRtn.CharuBhavewhopresentedthecitationtoUnmesh.

2) Installation was on 6th July We had a very good turnover of members, Ann's, my cops-mate and district officers. Total 83 pax attendedourinstallation.

3)Moviemakingcompetitionfordistrictrotary/Rotaractclubs3131 on the theme DIVERSITY EQUITY INCLUSION. After the announcement,wehavegotgreatresponsefromthedistrictteam.We wouldbeannouncingthisprojecton15thAugusttotheentiredistrict.

4)Wehavestartedworkingonthecontentsofthewebsite.Weshallbe doingthewebhostingsoon,afterapprovalfromtheBOD.

5) We have completed 3 Epilepsy surgeries in this month. All the patientshaveundergoneasuccessfuloperation.

6)MissionFridayprojecthasstartedandweneedtoparticipateinthis.

7) We have shortlisted 5 anganwadis and the need assessment has started.Soonwewillcomeupwiththedetailedreports.

8) Newspaper project has begun and each newspaper bag is costing INR4only Thisbagcanholdupto6kgofmaterial.Wearelikelytodo thisprojectinsynergywithRCPCENTRAL.Afterapprovalfromthe BOD.

9)SanitarypadsvendingmachinedonationoftwoUNITSisfinalised. It shall be done in the Month of August in synergy with RCP FORTUNE. We are doing to this project in SANT TUKARAM ELEARNINGSCHOOLPASHAN.

10)IamhappytomentionthatWehavecomeupwithaveryinnovative idea to engage the members andAnns. THE RAINBOWCONCEPT Pleaseparticipateinthesamewithfullenthusiasmandexcitement.

11) We have started the blood donation coordination and we are in processoffinalizingthedate.

12) We have one short term student [on behalf of our club] who has gone for the camp to Spain. We also hosted the RYE DISTRICT trainingPrograminthismonth.

13) Our 1st meeting at BKS with the “MUSICAL TAMBOLA” conducted by Rtn.Charu Bhave was a HIT All members enjoyed it. ThelipsmackingfellowshipwasentirelysponsoredbyRtn.Madhukar andAnn.Shubangiontheoccasionoftheir26thweddinganniversary

14)OurBelovedRtn.UNMESHwasfelicitatedbytheentireclubfor his remarkable achievement as the RECIPIENT OF THE PRESTIGIOUSAVENUES OF SERVICE AWARD RY2022-23 BY ROTARYINTERNATIONALAWARDS.

15) We have participated in the SHUKRANGAN CLUB meeting whichisajointspeakermeetingofover14clubs. WEREMAINCOMMITTEDTODELIVER.

ItwasaproudmomentfortheclubastheImmediatePastPresident, Rtn.S.D.Kabra receivedthedistinguishedhonourofbeinga3-star President for his work as President of the Club in the year 2022-23. This honour was bestowed by the IPDG Rtn. Dr Anil Parmar at the DistrictAwardsfunctionheldonJuly23.
