JOB OPPORTUNITIES & TRAINING
JOB OPPORTUNITIES We are recruiting for a number of roles starting in the summer of 2021 for both Trainee Land Agents and Farm Consultants. These roles will see the successful candidates working as part of a dynamic team and will require the candidate to be hard working and responsible. Successful candidates will be involved in:
Trainee Land Agents: the management of a diverse portfolio of rural estates as well as undertaking general professional work. The roles provide experience in Property Management, Landlord & Tenant, Valuation, Land Use & Diversification, Agriculture, Forestry, Access & Rights of Way and Purchase & Sale. We are open to considering both graduate or placement applications depending on our assessment of the individual, how closely they will fit into the Company and the contribution they will make to the team in which they will work.
Trainee Farm Consultants: a diverse range of work for farming clients including Farm Management, Farm Business Reviews including the preparation of Budgets and Cashflows, Contract Farming and Share Farming agreements, Basic Payment, Environmental Stewardship and Cross Compliance advice. In addition, the expectation is that consultants will have an opportunity to develop a technical specialism in areas such as Agronomy, Dairy, Beef & Sheep or the Environment. OUR APPROACH TO TRAINING At GSC Grays we take the training of our team very seriously.
We have a dedicated training committee within the business, representatives from each GSC Grays department sit on the committee to ensure that all training requirements are covered. We can pull on a pool of other in-house resources, which includes senior staff within the business, each with their own key specialities, to assist with training as and when required.
For placement students and graduate Land Agents studying for their APC we try and ensure they get the greatest possible depth of experience both practically and vocationally with access to the GSC Grays internal self-help group and external training. Along with structured guidance from APC Assessors within the business and mock interviews leading up to final assessment.
We actively encourage Trainee Land Agents and Farm Consultants within the business to sit their CAAV exams and provide the support necessary to do this, which crosses over with the APC self-help group.
It is essential that Trainees pursuing a professional qualification are provided with a wide variety of experience. GSC Grays will provide you with this and a transparent and structured career plan, so that this support continues after qualification.
