JC SUMMER Camps 2018 ~ More FUN Than EVER! This summer you can discover a variety of 7-week camps, specialty camps, and half-day camps to create your child’s best summer ever. If you’re looking for fitness, nutrition and fun, try our Jump Start JC Camp at Freedom Hall Civic Center (auxiliary gym). Nature Camps will take you on incredible journeys to learn about reptiles, wildlife, survival skills, geology and animal adaptations.

STAR Camp will expose campers to science, technology, art and recreation. Mini Jump Start Camp offers opportunities for preschoolers. Art Camps at Princeton Art Center are filled with creative fun and campers can get their fill of sports during Sport Camps. Campers in the Teen Adventure Camp will experience a little rafting fun. No matter which camp you choose summer camps will be More Fun Than Ever this year!

Registration: Registration opens April 2 at 8 am. You can register at the following locations: Carver Recreation Center, Memorial Park Community Center and Winged Deer Park. Online registration begins April 2 at www.myjcparks.org Each registrant must complete a registration form and all fees must be paid in full before acceptance into camp. A copy of your child’s birth certificate must accompany each registration form for walk-in registrations. Refunds will not be issued after camp begins, unless it is due to a medical reason. Medical refunds must be accompanied by a doctor’s recommendation.

7-Weeks of Fun Camp ̴ June 4 - July 27 (There will be NO Camps July 2-6) 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. Open to Ages: 6-12 Early drop-off (7:30 a.m.) Late pick-up (5:15 p.m.) - $20 extra per week

Jump Start JC Camp Location: Freedom Hall Civic Center, 1320 Pactolas Rd. 423-434-5758 Camp Fee: $200 per camper (includes breakfast, lunch and a T-shirt) Description: Looking for something exhilarating for your child to do this summer? Join us for JUMP START JC! Campers will have opportunities to learn about fitness, nutrition, sports, arts and crafts, nature, educational programs, enjoy guest speakers, fields trips and make lasting friendships.

Structured programs in a FUN atmosphere fosters LEARNING FUN! Camp is limited to 80 participants

Carver Recreation Camp Location: Carver Recreation Center, 322 W. Watauga Ave. 423-461-8830 Camp Fee: $120 per camper Description: Campers will experience field trips, weekly art activities, team building and physical fitness activities. Breakfast and lunch will be provided each day. Campers will receive a camp T-shirt. Camp is limited to 80 participants.

JC SUMMER CAMPS 2018 ~ More FUN Than EVER! Specialty Camps June 5 - July 20 (No Specialty Camps week of July 2-6 Mini Jump Start Preschool Summer Camp Location: Memorial Park Community Center, 510 Bert St. 423-434-6224 Date: June 5-28 Time: Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays 9 a.m.-1 pm.

7:30 a.m. (optional early drop Off) Ages: 3-5 years old (must be 3 before the first day of camp) Cost: $100/Summer, $10/wk. (optional early drop Off) Maximum: 15 kids Minimum (to hold camp): 5 kids Jump into summer with exciting games, arts and crafts, swimming, special guests, and basic sports. Children will get wet and messy so dress them in appropriate clothing. This camp is perfect for kids already in preschool and a great introduction for those entering preschool or starting kindergarten. They will LOVE socializing with kids their own age. Lunch will be provided. Breakfast is provided for children in early drop off. Child MUST be potty trained.

Science, Technology, Art and Recreation (STAR Camp) Location: Memorial Park Community Center, 510 Bert St. 423-434-5749 Date: June 25-29 Time: 9 a.m.-noon Ages: 6-12 Cost: $40 No. participants: 30 The STAR Camp consists of one day of science (geology/ astronomy), one day of exposure to new technology (word, power point, excel and the new EyePlay system, one day of arts and crafts and two days of recreation. The structured recreation is a day of fun and games and swimming at Legion Street Pool.

Nature Photography Camp Location: Jacob’s Nature Park at Sinking Creek, Winged Deer Park and Memorial Park Community Center.

Date: July 9-13 423-434-5749 Time: 9 a.m.-noon Ages: 6-12 Cost: $40 No. participants 15 Photograph nature in action, including animals, insects, flowers and anything else that catches your eye. Show your family your best work at the end of the week in a slideshow. Bring your own digital camera.

Teen Adventure Quest Location: Robert Young Cabin, Winged Deer Park 423-283-5821 Date: July 16-20 Time: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Ages: 13-17 Cost: $70 For an unforgettable experience, a real accomplishment, and something to be proud of for the rest of the year: join us as we learn about drones, execute a get down and dirty team work cave tour, hike, swim and end the week with an incredible river rafting trip on the Nolichucky River! This is a very action-packed week that will allow you to test your limits and get a better understanding of our Tennessee nature. Additional minor usage fees will apply. Campers will have a field trip each day and two meals are supplied.

Half Day Sports Camps - June 4 - July 6 Basketball Camp Location: Memorial Park Community Center, 510 Bert St. 423-434-5757 Date: June 4-8 Time: 9 a.m.-noon Ages: 6-12 Cost: $40 Maximum number of campers: 30 Think you’ve got game? Show off your skills and learn the fundamentals of the game. We will work on passing, dribbling, shooting and some challenging games.

Soccer Camp Location: Civitan Park, 1000 N. Broadway 423-434-5757 Date: June 11-15 Time: 9 a.m.-noon Ages: 6-12 Cost: $40 Maximum number of campers: 30 Be ready to show and improve your skills at this camp which will help you with the basic fundamentals. Work on agility, footwork, passing, kicking and scoring.

Golf Camp Location: Pine Oaks Gold Course, 1709 Buffalo Rd. 423-434-5757 Date: June 18-22 Time: 9 a.m.-noon Ages: 6-12 Cost: $40 Maximum number of campers: 30 Show us your best swing and let us help you with the steps to success.

We will work on how to hold the club and your stance. We also will work on your form and the right techniques for putting and driving.

Mix it up Sports Camp Location: Memorial Park Community Center, 510 Bert St. 423-434-5757 Date: July 2,3,5,6 (Camp will not meet on July 4) Time: 9 a.m.-noon Ages: 6-12 Cost: $30 Maximum number of campers: 30 Join us for a short week of flag football, kickball, table tennis, pickleball and swimming.

Participants will learn and play these fun games. Each day, campers will get to play to different sports. At the end of the week, we will all go swimming at Legion Street Pool.
