Rachael Fuschetti
We are thrilled to introduce you to Rachael, a Gosnold alumni who has been in sobriety for 6 years. A trauma survivor with a family history of addiction, Rachael started misusing substances as a teenager and over time her use evolved into a serious medical condition. A car accident was the impetus for Rachael to seek treatment. She arrived at Gosnold frightened, alone and separated from her two children whom she loves dearly. Determined to do whatever it took to get better, Rachael participated in the full continuum of care at Gosnold. One year after entering treatment, Rachael reunited with her children and today through her extraordinary courage, she is a providing a loving home for her family all while pursuing a career in nursing.
All these people lifted me up every single day. Gosnold gave me the tools and resources I needed to heal. - Rachael
Why the Award Matters
The annual Martin J. Walsh Alumni Award honors an alumni whose recovery has been profoundly impacted by Gosnold’s services. The award was named for former United States Secretary of Labor and Boston Mayor “Marty” Walsh in recognition of his tireless work to support those in recovery and to decrease the stigma that too often surrounds the disease of addiction. Mayor Walsh is an esteemed alumnus of Gosnold and his willingness to share his story lets people know that they are not alone and that hope and healing are within reach.
