Understanding the Success of UC Berkeley’s Data Science Program (12:00-1:00)

Science Education at UC Berkeley starts with student-centered, interdisciplinary curriculum built on open-source education and interactive computing. Lessons employ the foundations of computational and inferential thinking to explore practical data sets. UC Berkeley’s opensource approach helps build a national community around Data Science Education.

Poster Session: Community Data Lab Projects (1:30-3:00)

The flagship program of the Kansas Data Science Consortium is the Community Data Lab which brings projects (real-world issues and datasets) submitted by community partners into classrooms across Kansas. Students from KU, K-State, and Wichita State are invited to present their work on this semester’s projects. This forum will allow partners and community members to view preliminary results, and engage in conversation with students.
