THE NEW TAP

HOP is a tap with the certain twist to it. It differs from other taps in its shape and functions. The handling of conventional taps, as we all know it, is being reinterpreted. Now you can simply change the temperature with a twist of the front part. The initial shape and fuction is inspired specifically by the ears of a bunny. Through many alterations and modifications, I shifted these interesting aspects from the animal world into a modern design setting. A simple, yet clever new definition of a tap with the help of nature.

I started out by thoroughly researching about bunnies and rabbits and got surprised by plenty of their abilities and habits. Some of the most fascinating facts were their never stopping growing teeth and the following act of gnawing to keep them short, how they beat the ground with their back feet when they feel threathened and their rotatable ears, which are able to turn 180 degrees to listen carefully to their surroundings and possible predators. Many ideas arised after further thinking about these special abilities and in the end, I decided to go with the ears.

The formal transformation of the ear was challenging as I wanted to keep the overall shape. The tap has an organic shape and a opening similar to the inner ear part.
