“Our vision is to be the school of choice for our local community, developing successful young people with high aspirations, who show respect for all and endeavour to become the very best that they can be.”

RVHS Bulletin Weekending Friday 4th March 2022 Dear Parents/ Carers, We are all facing uncertainty at this time and we are trying really hard to work with our students to ensure that they have an understanding of what is happening in the world. As I mentioned in my earlier email, earlier this week, whilst there are no clear answers as to the ‘best way’ that a school can support their community - this is, after all, an unprecedented situation - our approach will be flexible, impartial, tailored to our children and how they present to staff. Our students know that we will offer support where needed and can approach any teacher, or use the iamnotok@rodingvalley.net email address. The students reacted very positively to our whole school assembly on the ‘Ukraine Conflict’, I hope that the assembly supported further conversation at home. The assembly slides and other support documents can be found on our website - How To Support Your Child Our students want to ‘do something’ to help the humanitarian crisis. We have received numerous emails and messages from our students wanting to help and feel part of that response. Therefore, we will be collecting essential items at the school to help keep the families and children caught in the conflict, safe and warm. Students can bring into school items from the essential list below, taking them to the Drama Hut on arrival, where they will be sorted and collected by our volunteer sixth formers. The school will then drop off the donations at the Donation hub set up at Civic Offices at Epping Forest District Council. Please only send your child into school with donations that they can carry - if you have large amounts of donations then please take them direct to the numerous donation hubs being set up locally. Please only donate to us, up to the quantity that your child can carry into school.
