All things considered, it has been a very ‘normal’ half term in school. Students have been fantastic and I am incredibly proud of the staff and the quality of the education being delivered amidst very difficult circumstances. This week we experienced our first student positive COVID cases and a member of staff has also now tested positive. In each case, we have been able to identify the close contacts and return the remaining students to school. All students and staff who were identified as close contacts are now self-isolating for 14 days. This is a sharp reminder of increasing transmission in the area, reflected in the higher COVID alert tier in Essex and how important it is that we all adhere to the safety guidelines that we have in school.

A reminder of our safety procedures can be found on our website. I am grateful for your support as this has enabled us to keep the school open and operational at all times during this half term. Please do ensure that your son/ daughter has a face covering with them every day as it is now expected that everyone will wear a face covering when in indoor communal areas. Letter High Alert After half term, we will have to charge a £1 on parent pay for any masks provided. If you are finding it difficult to provide a face covering for your child each day, then please do contact your Year Progress Leader and we can provide support in this matter. If you are facing any financial hardship at this present time then please do contact us as we can offer assistance concerning uniform, PPE and other curriculum resources. I have asked to promote ‘3food4u.org’ community support organisation, you can find details with the bulletin.
