RVHS Digital Strategy Aims

Vision The use of technology underpins the school’s vision, enabling the school to achieve its goals, through: • A community that learns, studies and explores in a changing digital world; • Students who are adept at using technology throughout their learning.

• Creative learning opportunities developed by teachers who are technologically and digitally skilled through timely, appropriate training; • Digital resources that empower students, teachers and support staff to meet and exceed goals.

ACED Guiding Principles

• Technology is embedded as an integral part of teaching and learning

• Enhances the learning journey and develop digitally confident students.

• Must not add to teacher workload.

• Training and upskilling of staff remain a focus. Building on our lockdown teaching upskilling.

• Implement at a pace that embed the use of technology & allow flexibility across departments.

ACED Digital Week- 1st focus/ action Digital week- A set week in the calendar per year group (12/13 combined) whereby teachers use a technology based task within their lessons. A menu of T&L will be made available: -

Assessment based tasks- forms, quizzes, live sheets etc

Collaborative tasks- Jamboard etc

Enrichment based tasks- Museum virtual tours etc

Feedback tasks- accessing GC feedback etc

Jamboard- a collaborative Google Tool that students can all be invited to and work on.

- ‘Google Genius Group’ led by CBL

- RVHS Chromebook purchase scheme- led by PLA & MVK - RVHS New Chromebook trolleys- we have approx 250 at any one time. (currently)

ACED Training Plans: - INSET Day September- Teacher training- The Basics - A ‘Menu’ of training for teaching staff- differentiated based on ability & understanding.

- All staff given capacity to reset passwords for ease during lessons.

- Use of Tuesday briefing slots- across the academic year.

- Twilight Session- time allocated to plan properly before the first digital week.
