INTERNSHIP Throughout my internship, I had the opportunity to work on a real project. The task involved adhering to the construction specification guide, which aimed to maintain costs within the boundaries of 25k/sqm for enclosed areas and 5k/sqm for open areas. My responsibilities included designing a 2 storey - detailed floor plan and crafting a 3D model of the entire facade for a three-door townhouse, which was initially conceptualized with a modern industrial theme. The targeted selling price for the 3.5-meter apartment was established in the range of 7 to 8 million.

REQUIREMENTS (3.5 METERS ) One car garage, 2 Toilet and Bath, 3 Bedroom on the 2nd/Flr., Maid's Qtr., Kitchen, Dirty Kitchen, Living Area

The design concept for the floor plan seeks to create an open and airy feel while considering the privacy of individual areas.

ARCHITECTURAL THESIS Early development and intervention consists of support and educational programs that enable children with impairments to have better developmental trajectories and achieve better health, hone language abilities, and optimize child’s physical, cognition, social skills, and emotional development. The project, “Every Child Can: A Developmental Intervention Center Integrating Multi-Sensory Design Architecture for Children with Disabilities” aims to provide children with special needs a vital space to ensure optimal development through child-focused learning, therapy, participation, and peer interaction. This development aims to provide the best quality care and education and promote inclusivity and awareness within a vulnerable community.

TECHNICAL DRAWINGS To integrate a fully array and coordinated multidisciplinary approach by adding spaces for occupational, physiotherapy, speech, and psychological therapy rooms. To discover children’s potential this facility includes selfcontained special education classrooms, transitioning areas, sensory rooms, life skills areas. Lastly, to provide accessible areas where activity can be encouraged and stimulated and enhance cognitive, physical, social development such as sensory garden, park, and playgrounds on the common grounds.

Senses of Place: Multi Sensory Design Architecture

Humans interact with and respond to space in several subtle and overt ways, both consciously and unconsciously. That is why, the purpose of multisensory design is to harmonize the design with the perceiver or users, and to do this, all five senses are necessary.

“The details are not the details. They make the design” - Charles Eames (1907 - 1978) This project "Every Child Can: A Developmental Intervention", caters to children with disabilities, who are more sensitive to their environment than typically developing kids. They usually respond differently to a variety of sensory stimuli from their surroundings, thus every detail, big or small, of the development that will be used must be thoroughly examined beforehand because everything adds up to either make a great or worse experience. Designing for them entails taking a step back and reexamining everything because it is very crucial.

SENSORY ROOM

The concept of "home" has been utilized in several architectural projects; designers would usually apply features of houses to their design such as sloped roofs, big windows, etc. But the thing is, they usually exclude the real essence of home, the one that is beyond its physical features and materiality, and this is something the researcher wanted to focus on. The project “Every Child Can: A Developmental Intervention Center for Children with Special Needs” wants to use “home” as a concept whereas it leans more towards the transcendence. The researcher wants to design a space that fosters a sense of belonging and exudes security, stability, and safety.
