• All orders must be paid prior to shipment unless a credit application is submitted & approved

• Product shipped via common carrier will be FOB - K + R warehouse

• All quotes for product and shipping estimates are good for 30 days

• Delivery by K + R Truck of in-stock product is generally made within 48 hours or on the next scheduled delivery day

• Arrangements can occasionally be made for customer pickups or job-site deliveries with prior notice

• Prior authorization is needed to return product for refund or exchange

• Returned products must be in new condition & returned within 120 days of purchase

• All returns will incur a 15% restocking fee; returns of special order/non-stock products are not accepted

• Customer credits must be used within 120 days

• Pricing may change without notice; for pricing questions contact your K+R Sales Representative/Customer Service

• Warranties for K + R branded products are available upon request; other product warranties are established by our vendor partners and available upon request

BATCHING PROCESS

100% computer controlled for precise weights of all components in the mix design. This creates a more consistent product in color, weight, texture, etc.

MANUFACTURING PROCESS

Rockface is manufactured on state of the art machinery. This creates consistency and uniformity in color, texture, weights, sizing, and creates a flat product that lays better.

STRENGTH

Due to the manufacturing process and batching systems we can achieve nearly twice the PSI strength. Rockface averages over 11,000 psi.

PRODUCTION CAPACITY

Rockface production capacities can exceed 4000 pcs per day. No job is too big to supply product on time.

COLOR

Rockface is produced with two standard colors. Custom colors are easily achieved. We have the ability to match other masonry-colored products to create uniformity on existing projects and other products.

WIRE REINFORCEMENT

Rockface uses a proprietary wire design and is consistent in the placement of the reinforcement. Any exposed wire is near the bottom of the panels and is stainless steel.

WARRANTY

Rockface carries a 10-year limited warranty against manufacturing defects. Not only does K + R stand behind the product we also have a reliable manufacturing partner that is financially stable.

WATER REPELLENCY

Rockface has water repellent inhibitors as a standard in the mix design.

BATCHING PROCESS

Most precast products do not have precise measurements of the individual products that go into the mix design. This can create inconsistency between production runs.

MANUFACTURING PROCESS

Precast dock panels are manually poured in place and left in a mold for 24 hours. Curing for a week required prior to use or transportation. Panels are often not flat creating a product that “rocks.”

STRENGTH

Precast dock pads range from 4000-5000 psi. The products are not nearly as strong and therefore can experience a higher percentage of breakage.

PRODUCTION CAPACITY

Precast has limitations to capacities due to the number of molds required and manual labor.

COLOR

Color options are often not in the mix design. Inconsistency in production runs and limitations in the ability to match existing products are a factor.

WIRE REINFORCEMENT

Placement of wire is inconsistent and can leach toward the surface of the dock panel. There are no known producers using stainless steel in their products which can create rust leaching to the surface.

WARRANTY

Warranties range from one producer to the next. These manufacturers are often limited in the financial resources, and many have not been able to weather the burden of this issue.

WATER REPELLENCY

There are no known producers using a water repellent in the mix design of precast dock panels

DESIGNRAIL® CREATE YOUR OWN

SELECT RAILING HEIGHT

Posts for horizontal railings come pre-cut for 36-in, 39-in and 42-in railing heights. Stair or custom posts must be cut to height in the field and extrusions can be ordered in 10-ft or 20-ft lengths for that purpose.

When using horizontal cable infill, all posts, including stair posts, are available pre-drilled for the cables.

DESIGNRAIL® SQUARE POSTS

All square posts can be fascia, base, fascia bracket, or stanchion mounted.

DESIGNRAIL® ANGLED CORNER POSTS

45° corner posts can be surface, fascia, or stanchion mounted, and for fascia-bracketmount applications, custom welded angles are used for the stand-off instead of a fascia bracket.

DESIGNRAIL® SINGLE CORNER POST

Available for base mount, fascia, and fascia bracket mount applications (not compatible with stanchion mount option).

QUICK-CONNECT® TERMINATION POST

Quick-Connect® fittings are loaded into a strip. The strip is inserted into the post and a lock ring at each fitting secures the strip into the post. Easy installation, simply trim the cable and insert it into the fitting.

MOUNTING OPTIONS

BASE MOUNT FOR DESIGNRAIL®

For top mounting to deck, patio or stair tread surfaces. (5” square base plates come pre-attached).

Note: Base plate can also be mounted to concrete or steel.

FASCIA MOUNT FOR DESIGNRAIL®

For side mounting to fascia boards, joists or walls. Fascia Mount posts come with pre-drilled bolt holes. Number of holes may vary upon application.

Note: Post can also be mounted to concrete or steel.

FASCIA BRACKET MOUNT FOR DESIGNRAIL®

For side mounting to fascia or rim joists when decking or nosing trim extends beyond the edge of the fascia board. Posts are attached using metal brackets that have a 1-1/4” stand-off. Railing may require a Bottom Rail when using this mounting method.

Note: Bracket can also be mounted to concrete or steel.

STANCHION MOUNT FOR DESIGNRAIL®

For mounting with stone or tile covered concrete slabs or on roof decks where penetration of waterproof roofing membranes must be minimized. Stanchions are available in steel, aluminum, or stainless steel. Typically 12” tall but can be custom sized and supplied with or without base plates.

Note: Stanchions can also be mounted to concrete or steel.

INFILL OPTIONS

TEMPERED GLASS INFILL FOR DESIGNRAIL®

Clear or custom tinted panels that are easily inserted into vinyl lined slots in the Top Rail Insert and Bottom Rail; no special mounting hardware needed.

Glass panels are shipped cut to size after the frames are constructed and final opening measurements are submitted.

VERTICAL PICKET INFILL FOR DESIGNRAIL®

3/4” square aluminum pickets that come cut-to-size, ready-to-install. Pickets come powder coated to match the frame color and are secured to the Top Rail Insert and Bottom Rail with screws.

HORIZONTAL CABLE INFILL FOR DESIGNRAIL®

316-grade stainless steel CableRail Kits include all of the attachment fittings and come prefabricated in standard lengths that can be trimmed to length in the field. All post and pickets come pre-drilled, ready for cable installation. A vertical intermediate picket is used mid-span to minimize cable deflection.

Bottom rails are recommended for 42-in high frames and are optional on 36-in and 39-in frames using horizontal cable infill.

Series 100 is a small 2” wide square shaped top rail for DesignRail®. The narrow width allows it to be installed between posts (using RCBs) instead of on top of posts, creating a newel post style railing with posts rising above the top rail. Requires a hand rail when used on stairs.

Series 200 is a 3-1/2” wide, rectangular top rail for DesignRail®. The flat surface is a convenient perch for your favorite beverage as you enjoy the view. Top rails rest on the tops of the posts and are secured with stainless steel screws. Requires a hand rail when used on stairs.

The standard capital and base set for square columns is the Tuscan style.

Tuscan capitals for square columns are made from Polyurethane. Most sizes of Tuscan capitals are made utilizing a patented process to create a Snug-Fit capital.

Capitals eliminate the need to purchase a backer rod to close the gap that can occur between the column shaft and the capital. Snug-Fit capitals do not require pilot holes. The Standard Tuscan base is made from the same material as the column to protect both the base and column from dents and other damage. Optional Poly Bases and Alto-style bases are also available for some square columns.

Deck2wall® Spacers (D2W) are polypropylene spacers designed to be installed between a deck and house. This allows water and debris to flow between the ledger and the house, promotes circulation and drying, and helps prevent rot.

DECK LEDGER SPACERS DON’T LET YOUR DECK ROT YOUR HOUSE!

Deck2wall® Spacers will help prevent rot by providing drainage and airflow. Poorly designed ledger connections can trap moisture between your deck and house, which can lead to decay. This condition causes costly repairs to your home and is often a contributing factor when a deck collapses.

DECK LEDGERS, SHADE STRUCTURES, POSTS, STAIR STRINGERS, LANDINGS.......

Verify local codes prior to installation

1. Cut ledger to length and lay out deck joists on ledger.

2. Temporarily attach the ledger in the desired location.

3. Drill holes as required for fasteners. Avoid joist locations and vertical grooves in siding if applicable. Refer to Deck Ledger Fastening Table on reverse side for the correct spacing of fasteners. Consult a designer or building official if needed.

4. Remove ledger, center Deck2wall® Spacers over bolt holes and attach spacers to the building side of the ledger. To comply with the D2W58 fastening table, install each spacer with 3-#8 x 1 5/8” Phillips Square-Driv® or GuardDog® screws, or equal. Use only premium exterior coated or 300 series stainless steel (Grip-Rite® PrimeGuard MAX®), 1 5/8” minimum length, #8 or larger.

5. At the building, apply sealant in and around the bolt holes / pilot holes to prevent moisture intrusion.

6. Position ledger against the building. Align bolt /pilot holes and secure fasteners.

Install each Deck2wall® Spacer to ledger with 3 - #8 x 1 5/8” e screws (as noted above) and use spacers as a template to drill ledger. Position ledger in the desired location and continue drilling as required into supporting structure. Apply sealant and secure fasteners.
