The place: SPLITSKA (EN) Splitska is an ancient village on the island of Brač in Croatia. The scenic, charming little village was built around a small bay, the population is about 400. The village got its name from a derivative of Split, the second largest city in Croatia: “little Split”.
The village name was first mentioned in the year 1577, when Mihovil Cerinić
a Dalmatian nobleman from the town of Škrip, erected a citadel in the centre of Splitska. His intent had been to use it as a fortress against the impending waves of Ottoman-Turks that swept across Brač in that era. This castle became the town’s first true landmark.
Splitska is approximately 6 km distant from the main town on Brač called
Supetar and 25 km from Brač airport.
The village was settled by Romans to mine stones which were used to
construct the Diocletian Palace and many other buildings in Venice, or the White House in Washington, The high alter of Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral in England, and Berlin’s Reichstag. The initial quarry is located only a few hundred meters from the main road which passes Splitska.
The first inhabitants from Škrip (a village above Splitska) built the church of
Blessed Virgin Mary in Stomorna (1228). The altar pale of the Virgin with Saints has painted Leandro Bassano, a renaissance painter from Venice in 1577.

A helyszín: SPLITSKA (HU) Splitska település Brač szigetén, Horvátországban helyezkedik el. A festői, bájos kicsi falu egy öbél köré épült, lakosainak száma körülbelül 400. A falu neve a második legnagyobb horvát város Split nevéből ered: “kis Split”.
A faluról először 1577-ben tesznek említést, miután a Škrip-ből származó
Mihovil Cerinić dalmát főnemes várat építetett a közeledő oszmán-török veszély ellen. Ma a falu központjában áll. Ez a vár lett a sziget első igazi iránypontja.
A legjelentősebb várostól, Supetartól mintegy 6 km-re délre az Adriai-tenger
partján fekszik, 25 km-re a Brač-i repülőtértől.
Legfőbb nevezetessége a közelben fekvő, világhírű márványáról nevezetes
kőfejtő. Az itt bányászott márványból épült fel Dalmácia egykori palotáinak, templomainak sora, de ebből épült sok velencei palota, továbbá az itteni márványt használták föl a washingtoni Fehér Ház, a liverpooli Érseki Metropolita Székesegyház, vagy a berlini Reichstag épületéhez is.
Az első letelepült családok Škripből jöttek (Splitskától északra fekvő falu),
majd ők építették föl a mai napig használt Sztomornai Boldogságos Szűz Máriatemplomot (1228), melynek oltárképét a velencei reneszánsz festő, Leandro
Bassano festette 1577-ben. 5

The base of SIAC is on Island of Brač, in the scenic Dalmatian fishing village, in the Splitska’s Kindergarten in perfect condition. The atelier has 3 studios and a large court with atrium. Who found and founded: Lajos Orosz, painter. Who help: Szilvia Kalmár, our secretary and Dodo, they manage and settle our all difficulties and problems with love and understanding. THE PROFESSIONAL TEAM: Founder and art manager of SIAC: Lajos Orosz, who’s levitating like a cloud and looking to... Curator: Boglárka Cseh, who’s thinking, that ‘ut implemented’? Creative marketing manager: Ágota Krnács, who’s helping us with her great ideas and works, that our story and news get through to more people. And of course, the artists, who fill the studios with creative energy and peace.

A társaság: SIAC (HU) Splitska - kis Split - a lelkünk kis palotája, ahova évente 10-15 napra bevonulunk és alkotunk.
A művésztelep Brač szigetén, a festői szépségű dalmát halászfalu vadonatúj
óvodájában, 3 műteremmel és egy átriumos nagy udvarral működik. Aki meglelte és alapította: Orosz Lajos, festőművész. Akik segítik hogy működjön: Kalmár Szilvia, a titkárunk és Dodó, akik a telep ügyes bajos dolgait nagy szeretettel és megértéssel intézik. A SZAKMAI CSAPAT: A telep alapítója és művészeti vezetője: Orosz Lajos, aki mint felhő lebeg és néz... Kurátora: Cseh Boglárka, aki a gondolkodik arról, hogy mivégre is. Kreatív marketingmenedzsere: Krnács Ágota, aki remek ötleteivel és munkájával segíti, hogy minél több ember érezze mi is történik velünk. No, és a művészek akik, megtöltik a telepet alkotó energiával és békével.

Window frost forms when a pane of glass is exposed to below-freezing temperatures on the outside and moist air on the inside. Water vapor from the air condenses as frost on the inside surface of the window.
