KRISTIN SANCKEN
Kristin Sancken is a Communications Consultant specializing in arts and culture. With a unique background in the art world as a writer, curator, and public relations professional, she is able to offer a dynamic and individualized approach to projects, including many tasks that may fall outside of the scope of traditional PR.
Most recently, Kristin held a senior position at Company Agenda, a New York-based public relations and event production agency where she worked with clients including P·P·O·W Gallery, Venus Over Manhattan, Kohn Gallery, Magenta Plains, the Armory Show, the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, and Planned Parenthood of Greater New York. Additionally, she helped plan and execute numerous high-profile events including Planned Parenthood's 100th Anniversary Gala (2017), Planned Parenthood of Greater New York's Choice Works art auctions (2017-2021), and Planned Parenthood of Greater New York's annual Spring into Action Gala (2018- 2023), among others, and has secured press placements in top-tier publications such as the New York Times, LA Weekly, New Yorker, NewYork Magazine, Artforum, T Magazine, artnet news, ARTnews, the Art Newspaper, Hyperallergic, Art in America, Robb Report, and the Wall Street Journal.
Before transitioning to a career in Communications, Kristin worked as a curator, organizing prominent exhibitions in collaboration with top contemporary artists and institutions such as Phillips de Pury & Co. (Phillips), Rush Arts Gallery, and the SPRING/BREAK Art Show. She has exhibited works by notable artists, including Jen Cantron and Paul Outlaw, Eric Fischl, Jane Hammond, Hugh Hayden, Sol Lewitt, Alexis Rockman, Lola Schnabel, Phillip Taaffe, Fred Tomaselli, Janaina Tschäpe, and Dustin Yellin, among many others.
Kristin holds a BFA in Historic Preservation from the Savannah College of Art and Design and an MA in Art Business from the Sotheby's Institute of Art. Her essays on contemporary art have been featured in Hyperallergic, artnet news, Whitewall Magazine, Whitehot Magazine, and many major auction catalogs.
