If a group member starts undermining the coach and the team, he or she needs to be challenged. If the coach feels attacked, the next step is usually to resign, as the individual is threatening the team. In the end, each member has to realize that the coach is the head of the team and the leader, and he or she has to be respected and must be allowed to go on. Dysfunctional communication is essential in a team. When there is too much communication, there is more than one voice, and this may lead to discord. Team members must understand that they must trust and listen to the coach, because the coach is a one-man show. Thus, he or she cannot be listened to by just anyone. Just as there is a leader for each group, there should also be a leader for each team. If not, this can lead to an imbalance, and this could create even more problems in the team. To avoid this, there should be someone appointed to be the leader for the team, this should be agreed upon by all the members of the team. Team members should be aware that the team should be treated with respect. It is usually the coach's responsibility to be prepared for the coach's report, as well as the team members, and the coach should not expect anything but respect from the team. All members of the team should understand that they have an equal say in the project and that they have to be treated equally. Being patient is not always an easy thing to do, but it is the number one thing to do when it comes to a team. As long as the team is patient, it will improve, and it will get better faster. Failure is a possibility, but if the team is constantly thinking about failure, then they will not improve quickly. Once a team has been assessed, the coach needs to be careful about what is said and written about the team. Any negative criticism about the team should be kept between the coach's personal representatives, or family members. Should anyone decide to speak negatively about the team or the coach, then the coach should then confront this person. There should always be a sense of teamwork in the team. When team members are not thinking about each other, they are not improving and as a result, they will not be productive. members should seek out advice from team members who will be able to
help them out. and they should also communicate regularly with their peers so that they will feel a sense of being part of the team.
