Dear KREIA Members and Friends, Real estate is undergoing a once-in-a-generation explosion of growth and change, which will result in many wealth-building opportunities. There is no recent comparison to what we are seeing on the local and national market – limited inventory, unprecedented demand for affordable housing, the lowest interest rates in history, and year-over-year price appreciation. We’re also seeing investors’ hunger for real estate information.

KREIA’s member-focused information funnel is working to keep you up to date each month. Our board is putting together a full agenda of educational meetings and workshops, both virtual and in-person. Look for a lot of great training and happenings at KREIA this year. If you are a seasoned professional or still on the sidelines – watching, just absorbing or trying to find your starting place – I encourage you to jump in and immerse yourself in the educational and networking opportunities KREIA makes available to you each month. This month, in addition to the usual abundance of educational materials, we will be covering aspects of the new Metro Louisville protected class ordinance that guarantees Section 8 and other subsidized housing program participants access to your rental units. If you need to get up to speed on this ordinance, KREIA is the place to absorb accurate information necessary to know how to comply with these changes and requirements – it’s information you need to know to be in the landlord business in Jefferson County. This month attorney Michelle Rawn is headlining a 4-hour online workshop – free to KREIA members – that addresses how to be a successful landlord within the Section 8 program. Continued on Page 4
