girl with a string
FROM THE PRINCIPAL Dear Parents, Students and Staff In the past two weeks our students have been involved in a variety of cocurricular activities, in sport, outdoor camps and in the creative and performing arts. As well, we have held a number of community events. “Girl with a String” The Edwina Taylor Clark Auditorium was transformed into a stunning theatrical space to present this year’s school play “Girl with a String.” Written and directed by Michael Pigott, the play told a moving story about memory, family and growing up. The story was both inspiring and challenging. Over fifty students from Years 5 to 11 were involved in the cast and production crew, bringing together many different facets of the school community. The production showcased the talents of many of our students, not only as young actors, but also as stage managers and lighting and sound operators. Congratulations to all involved! Special thanks to Director Michel Pigott, Producer Nicole James and Carrie Scanlan, who was responsible for the Tech Crew.
grand parents & special friends liturgy
Year 6 Camp The Year 6 Camp this year was held at Coolendel. For the three days that they were away, students enjoyed the sunshine and activities that promoted trust and effective communication. These camps are especially important for the older year groups in the Junior School, as they create a sense of community and confidence for students before they progress to Senior School. By all accounts the camp was a resounding success, bringing the students, teachers and camp leaders closer together and encouraging all to face challenges. Kindergarten & Year 4 Family Mass The Kindergarten and Year 4 Family Mass and Morning Tea, held last Sunday, was an opportunity for these Junior School families to celebrate the Eucharist and then enjoy morning tea on the Noviceship Lawn. Our celebrant Father Phil Watkins led a meaningful liturgy for all present. I enjoyed chatting to parents of these students following Mass and appreciated hearing of some of the KRB activities in which their children are engaged.
