GP&J Baker and Pooky are thrilled to launch their second collaboration. A capsule collection of four new lampshades designed featuring both iconic and previously unseen prints from the GP&J Baker archive.

Blending Pooky’s accessible, design-led lighting with GP&J Baker’s rich textile heritage, this follow-up to their successful first collection brings fresh energy to historic patterns dating back to the 18th and 19th centuries. While exploring the brand’s vast archive, the Pooky team uncovered rare designs that have never appeared in fabric or wallpaper - until now.

dotty

Dotty is a true testament to GP&J Baker’s expansive and eclectic archive and takes it’s cue from an 1810 vesting pattern. Dotty’s long history stretches back to ancient India where it first emerged as a symbol of life and prosperity. Now updated in a range of delicious and complementary colourways.

tuffley

Tuffley was designed in the mid-19th century and was originally created for clothing textiles, reflecting the growing fascination with natural motifs during the era. This design, codenamed “seaweed” in the design studio captures the essence of organic forms and nature-inspired beauty.

ikat bokhara

Ikat Bokhara, an intricate and vibrant design that draws upon the rich history of the ancient Silk Road. Inspired by the lush textiles of the desert oases of Bokhara, Samarkand, and Kashgar in the 19th century, this pattern was first introduced to the GP&J Baker archive in 1906.

zaraband

The Zaraband design pays homage to the noble traditions of early 19th-century Central Asian textiles. Inspired by an Abra smock from the period, the Zaraband ikat features delicate tonal transitions that echo the elegant patterns of silk Abra kurtas, which were once worn exclusively by aristocratic women to display both wealth and power.
