DOWNTON ABBEY ON MASTERPIECE, SEASONS 1–6
This is a very exciting month for Passport members! We’re getting tons of great shows in March, including the entire original Downton Abbey series with a cast that stars Hugh Bonneville, Michelle Dockery and the late Dame Maggie Smith. With gorgeous period clothing and, of course, the addictive storylines, it’s no wonder that this show became a cultural phenomenon and had a profound influence on costume dramas over the past 15 years. Whether you’re a superfan or new to the series, you’ll enjoy this escape into the lives of the aristocratic Crawley family. This is a great time to activate your Passport membership to get early access to the show’s return. Broadcast dates are planned for later in the spring, but Passport members can start binge-watching all six seasons starting Sunday, March 1
—Emma Casley, TV Programming Manager

BOUND BY TRADITION, TORN BY DESIRE
The Forsyte Saga novels — published between 1906 and 1921 by English author John Galsworthy — inspire The Forsytes on MASTERPIECE, a major new reimagining of the events taking place before those covered in Galsworthy’s books. The six-part television series adaptation, which takes place in 1880s London, follows the lives of the wealthy stockbroking Forsyte family, whose generations are torn between personal happiness and the pursuit of love and their loyalty to tradition and selfsacrifice. Ambition and betrayal simmer at the heart of this lavish and romantic costume drama, which premieres on Sunday, March 22, at 9pm on KQED 9.

KQED Presents works with independent filmmakers to bring local and national viewers outstanding new programs such as Life Unearthed with Ariel Waldman created by San Francisco-based explorer Ariel Waldman. Her six-part docuseries reveals Earth’s ecosystems through radical shifts in scale — from microscopic wildlife to the planet’s most iconic animals. Tune in for her journeys to Antarctica and the North American prairies on KQED and in the PBS app starting in April.
