Congratulations on your accomplishments with the 4-H program, and good luck as you move forward in life. May the 16 of you go forth and do great things.

Achievement Winner Five 4-H’ers applied for this high honor. The selection process for achievement winner is judged on four criteria: 25% 4-H Record of Achievement, 25% interview, 25% application, and 25% display. The displays were in the Exhibit Hall during the fair. The four runner-ups, each received $250 payable to a higher institution of learning and the Achievement Winner received $500 along with the trophy, medallion and ribbons.

The Achievement Winner for 2014 is Katherine Davenport, daughter of Cyndy and Jason Davenport. She will be attending Hillsdale College in Michigan this fall. She is a ten-year member of the Explorers 4-H Club.

This year the runner-up were: Joanna Claudy, daughter of Aaron and Tatiana Claudy, a ten-year member of the Flint Arrows 4-H Club; Skylar Clingan, son of Doug and Stacy Clingan, a 10-year member of the Orland Creative Kids; Eric Ruff, son of Mike and Dawn Ruff, a ten-year member of The Conquerors 4-H Club; and Jacqueline Weisenfelder, daughter of Mike and Beth Weisenfelder, an eight-year member of Fremont Ready Willing and Able.

Clover Buds The Clover Buds is open to youth in preschool (age 3) through kindergarten.

The purpose is to encourage enrollment in Mini 4-H when older, to acquaint the member with the rules and procedures of the 4-H organization and to learn and have fun. This was a new program in 2012.
