The grand champion beef steer from this week’s Noble County Fair was one of hundreds of animals up for auction at the fairgrounds in Kendallville. The animal was shown by Rachael Rogers from Allen Township, right, with help from her brother, Robert, left. The animal fetched $5,400, which was the second-highest price of the day.

Some expensive milk was sold Friday in the Noble County 4-H auction at the fairgrounds in Kendallville. Jackson Resler and his sister, McKenzie Resler, hold the quart that fetched a winning bid of $1,775. The milk came from Jackson’s grand champion cow.

This shawl, knitted with alpaca wool, was made by Lisa Truman and donated to the fair as a fundraiser for a new roof on the floral hall at the fairgrounds. It was displayed at Friday’s auction by Alexandria Kimmel of Kendallville, and went for $450.
