soul into. Coleman told Pence and Michael she would work to make sure the transition to a new auditor was as seamless as possible. “I am hoping that the next person that comes in can make (the office) better. Man charged in teen’s stabbing death
BLOOMINGTON (AP) — The criminal case has been delayed again against rock star John Mellencamp’s two sons on felony charges of punching and kicking a 19-year-old man in southern Indiana. A Monroe County judge granted a request from lawyers for 19-year-old Hud Mellencamp, 18-year-old Speck Mellencamp and another 19-year-old man that a hearing scheduled Thursday be postponed. All three face battery charges for the July 29 attack that authorities say happened outside a Bloomington home on a man who they believed had hit Speck Mellencamp earlier that night. The man suffered serious facial fractures. Court hearings for the three are now scheduled for Jan. 6.

Health policy shift Obama will allow insurance that would have been canceled WASHINGTON (AP) — Bowing to pressure, President Barack Obama on Thursday announced changes under his health care law to give insurance companies the option to keep offering consumers plans that would otherwise be canceled. The administrative changes are good for just one year, though senior administration officials said they could be extended if problems with the law persist. Obama announced the changes at the White House. “This fix won’t solve every problem for every person, but it’s going to help a lot of people, the

At the White House, Obama acknowledged that “we fumbled the rollout of this health care law and pledged to “just keep on chipping away at this until the job is done. He also promised to work to regain the trust of the American people. “I think it’s legitimate for them
AUBURN — Thursday’s announcement by President Barack Obama may have little effect on private health insurance customers in northeast Indiana, a local agent said. The president said most people will be able to keep for another year any health policies that were being canceled because they did not meet new federal standards. The area’s leading insurers, PHP and Anthem Blue Cross, already have effectively extended their policies one year by moving up renewal dates to Dec. 1, said Rick Roark of Roark’s Insurance Service in Auburn. The renewal change makes those policies effective through Dec. 1, 2014, Roark said. However, Roark said, “I had

The National Association of Insurance Commissioners said the president’s proposal could undermine the new health insurance markets his law seeks to create.
