Five years ago, as the Great Recession really set in, a lot of businesses cut out or cut back on holiday parties — some because they couldn’t fit them into the budget and others because it seemed crass to throw a party while eliminating jobs and/or reducing compensation. It’s not the Bible, but within northeast Indiana’s economic-development circles, it’s become revered as a holy text, serving as both inspiration and affirmation for efforts to transform the region.
