Youth Camps

Youth Camps Fall day Day camps CAMPS Thanksgiving Adventure Camp We provide fun, games, swimming and more at The Keller Pointe during the Thanksgiving Holiday break.

Adventure Camp includes art and crafts, social games, snacks, smilling at The Keller Pointe indoor leisure lunch, drinks, swimsuit and towel daily. NO Camp Thursday, November 28.

A 5-business day writeen notice is required to withdraw from camp, less the $25 deposit. If withdrawing less than 5-business days from start of camp, no refund is available.

Youth Camps RARE Learning Film Making Camp

This is a video production camp that teaches digital video filming, editing principles, and production techniques. It is designed to generate an interest in critical observation and communications by engaging participants in the film making process. During camp, students will learn on-air confidence, script writing skills and get an introduction to production and editing. Students will learn the basics of pre-production, production and post – production process and will be preparing a short film. The camera, lighting, green screen and computer for class provided by RARE Learning. No Class January 1st, 2014.

While your parents are out shopping for your Thanksgiving dinner celebration you can be creating your own unique art work to give as gifts. Complete 6 fine art masterpieces you’ll be proud to frame and display with professional artists, Robert & Susan Garden. Using LEGO's Simple and Motorized Mechanisms Set, campers will build and explore machines and mechanisms, investigate motorized machines, and study gearing mechanisms with this core brick set. Campers will also investigate the principles of simple machines, mechanisms, and structures; experiment with balanced and unbalanced forces and friction; measure distance, time, speed, and weight; and much more.

Shoot hoops? Want to learn? Lil’ Hoopsters is the perfect introduction to basketball for boys and girls. Each player will learn the basics, such as dribbling, shooting, passing and some defense. In this class, teamwork, sportsmanship, and fun are emphasized over direct competition. Be sure to catch the last day of the session when the team will show off what they’ve learned in the “Big Game.”

Soccer Sparks Skills Academy

Oil Painting You will be amazed at the beautiful oil painting your child can create each 1 ½ hour workshop. Step-by-step, patient instruction by a professional artist will encourage student’s creativity and assist them in completing a truly amazing work of art each class that you’ll be proud to frame and hang. Lil’ Hoopsters

This recreation league is perfect if you are just learning the game of volleyball, or need to perfect your skills as you get ready to try out for your local school team. Fun and learning are emphasized over competition in this league. Participants will be split into two age groups; 8-10 & 11-14. This league will be a “social” (friends play with friends) league and we will do our best to keep teams distributed in that manner.

Teams will have one practice a week and games will be played on Saturdays. Participation awards will be given at the end of the season. Participants who want their child to “play up” (older age division) must coach. VOLUNTEER COACHES ARE NEEDED FOR EACH TEAM. *There is an additional $10 late registration fee after the deadline.

Taught by leading coaches with USSF National Soccer Coaching licenses, the class uses advanced, “all-ball” training techniques to help students meet their maximum potential while emphasizing on fair play and enjoyment of the game.

Adult Programs adult classes Social Ballroom Would you like to learn how to dance like the “stars”? No partner necessary! Please join us in learning how to express yourself with confidence with a variety of ballroom dance rhythms. Some dances include Rumba, Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, American Foxtrot and Swing. Holiday Shopping in Canton Join in the fun Friday, November 1st as The Keller Pointe takes a road trip to the Canton Trade Days for a little early Holiday shopping. Depart The Keller Pointe at 7:00 a.m. aboard a chartered bus and return at 6:00 p.m. after a full day of shopping. Sit back and let someone else do the driving to Canton, Texas on their most popular shopping day of the year. You will be able to store and transport your purchased items and relax all the way back home. The fee is per person and space is limited, so be sure to register early.

Adult Programs Men’s Basketball League

The Keller Pointe offers a Men’s competitive and recreation basketball league. The leagues consist of an 8-week regular season followed by playoffs. Monday night leagues are Competitive leagues and Thursday night leagues are Recreational leagues. Register early at The Keller Pointe as these leagues fill up fast and space is limited. NO GAMES November 28th.

The Keller Pointe is a great place to bring a team and play some V-BALL! The indoor co-ed leagues will be officiated and are played at The Keller Pointe. The league consists of an eight week regular season followed by playoffs. NO GAMES December 24th or 31st.

Adult Softball Leagues

Bring your team to the Keller Sports Complex for a USSSA sanctioned league. We offer both Men’s & COED leagues.

Teams will be required to play with softballs provided by The Keller Pointe. Each team will receive 12 balls to begin the season. Additional balls can be purchased throughout the season. NO GAMES November 20 and December 1st.

KATCH Grab your old tennis partner or come out and find a new one by playing in one of Keller’s Adult Tennis Leagues.

League play is held at the Keller High School Courts. These leagues are run by the Keller Alliance Tennis Charter (KATCH). Leagues run for eight weeks. For more information and to register, call The Keller Pointe. Registration must be paid through The Keller Pointe. Each player needs to bring two unopened cans of hard court tennis balls.

Aikido is a modern Japanese martial art that specializes in redirecting an opponent’s attack using movement and blending rather than brute force. Aquatics American Red Cross Waterpark Lifeguard Certification The purpose of the American Red Cross Waterpark Lifeguarding Course is to provide entry-level lifeguard participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until emergency medical services personnel take over in aquatic facilities with waterpark features. ATTENDANCE AT ALL SESSIONS IS MANDATORY. Prerequisites: 1. Minimum of 15 years of age on or before the final scheduled session of the course.

2. Swim 300 yards continuously demonstrating breath control and rhythmic breathing. Candidates may swim using the front crawl, breaststroke, or a combination of both but swimming on the back or side is not allowed. Swim goggles may be used.

3. Tread water for 2 minutes using only the legs.

Candidates should place their hands under the armpits.

4. Complete a timed event within 1 minute, 40 seconds: a. Starting in the water, swim 20 yards. The face may be in or out of the water. Swim goggles are not allowed. b. Surface dive, feet-first or head-first, to a depth of 7 to 10 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object. c. Return to the surface and swim 20 yards on the back to return to the starting point with both hands holding the object and keeping the face at or near the surface so they are able to get a breath.

Candidates should not swim the distance under water.

Exit the water without using a ladder or steps.

Certification is taught in 3 seperate sessions, listed below.

Bear Creek Rooms are available for rental from 5:00 am to 1:00 am. (For extended hours, see below) The contract, deposit and half the rental fee must be paid at the time of booking. The remaining balance is due 30 days prior to the rental.

Deposits

A deposit of $100 is required on facility rentals, along with the completion of The Keller Pointe Facility Reservation contract and payment. The deposit will be refunded if the area used has been left in good order and all conditions of the contract have been met. An additional $150 deposit for alcohol consumption and/or teenage event is required, along with the cost and scheduling of a Keller police officer on site. All rentals are a minimum of two hours.

Class Makeup Policy If it is necessary to cancel a class because of inclement weather, The Keller Pointe Customer Service staff will notify all participants at least one hour before class is scheduled to begin when possible. You may call The Keller Pointe at 817-743-4FUN. If a swim lesson is cancelled, The Keller Pointe aquatic staff will contact you within 24 hours to reschedule.

Any group class missed will not be made up.

Class Refund or Transfer Policy When a class is cancelled due to low enrollment or circumstances, you may be offered a transfer to another class or receive a full refund. Participant initiated refunds and transfers will only be granted when a participant: a) submits a transfer or refund request at least 5 business days prior to the starting date of the course; b) moves from the area and notifies The Keller Pointe at least 5 business days prior to the course start date; or c) becomes ill, in which case a doctor’s statement must be presented upon request. If a refund/ transfer is not requested to be applied to Keller Pointe merchandise or program within 90 days, the refund/transfer will be forfeited.

Safety Procedure In order to keep our facility safe, any patron possessing a weapon, or object determined by The Keller Pointe staff to pose a potential threat to persons or property, will be denied admission and/or required to leave the premises without refund. The Keller Pointe staff may at any point contact the Keller Police Department to assist in the enforcement of this procedure.

Inclement Weather Policy Lightning poses a serious risk of injury in our aquatic facilities, including the indoor facilities. Due to the seriousness of this issue, the following inclement weather policy applies for all aquatic facilities: When lightning occurs, the pools will be closed. If the lightning and inclement weather continues for more than forty-five minutes, the pools will remain closed and The Keller Pointe staff will attempt to reopen the pools later in the day. This policy is in effect until one hour prior to the facility’s official closing time.

Benefits of the Keller Pointe Membership

Registering as a member of The Pointe is the best way to take advantage of all The Pointe has to offer. Members have access to all non instructional activities, fitness equipment, the running/ walking track, gymnasium, indoor and outdoor aquatic centers, locker room facilities and towel service.

Family Memberships

A family membership constitutes at least one, no more than two, adult heads of household and his/her dependents that are 23 years of age or younger in school or living at home. It also includes persons with special needs living as a single housekeeping unit at the same address.

Medical Freeze

In the event of a medical condition that prevents you from utilizing The Pointe, members may freeze their annual membership for $10/month by providing a doctor’s statement.

Once a doctor’s release is obtained to return to the facility, the membership will be reactivated for the length of time it was frozen.

If the patron has a family membership and elects to freeze the membership, the entire family will be frozen. Medical freezes must take place within 30 days of the medical condition arising. Expired memberships are not eligible for medical freeze. We also offer other account freezes, please see our service desk for eligibility requirements.

Daily Admission If you choose not to become a member of The Pointe, you may still enjoy the amenities of this great facility by paying the Daily Admission. The Daily Admission allows you entrance to all non instructional activities in the fitness center, indoor and outdoor aquatic centers, gymnasium, track, and locker rooms on the day of purchase. Every person entering the facility without a membership, must pay the Daily Admission.

Your annual membership is good for one year from the date of purchase. As an Annual Member, you will receive all of the wonderful benefits mentioned earlier.

This is the most economical way to take advantage of all The Pointe has to offer.

Annual Fee - Non-Refundable For individuals choosing to purchase an annual membership by paying for one year in full, the membership is non-refundable with the exception of the 30-day Opt Out Period.

30-Day Opt Out Period All annual members have 30 days from the date of purchase to request an annual fee refund. One month, at the monthly rate, and a $60 service charge will be deducted from the annual fee refund amount. After 30 days, no refund is available.

Annual Fee Transfers Individual or family annual members may transfer their membership to another individual or family. If the individual or family receiving the annual membership is a non-resident, the receiving party will be required to pay the difference between the resident annual membership fee and the non-resident annual fee. If a non-resident annual member is transferring their annual membership to a resident of the City of Keller, the price difference is not refundable.

A representative will assist you with a finger scan and payment. A membership will not be issued without a valid driver’s license as proof of residency. Dallas Athletes Racing and Keller Parks and Recreation will present the Get Healthy Kids Triathlon in the morning. Our Bear Creek trails get a little frightful this particular evening with ghouls, goblins, and witches. Participants will walk down the haunted trail of the Bear Creek Park Greenbelt starting at the south end of the parking lot of The Keller Pointe. Groups will be brought back to the parking area on hayrides. Caution: Haunted Trails can be too scary for some children. Hike and Bike Trails There are over 17 miles of hike and bike trails throughout the city. For location and distance please view our website at www.kellerparksandrec.com

Residents: A residential rental fee of $30 for 3 hours + $15 for each additional hour.

Non-Residents: A non-residential rental fee of $40 for 3 hours + $20 for each additional hour.

All rentals require a 3 hour minimum rental period and are non-refundable.

Keller Multi-Use Arena The 120’ X 350’ outdoor multi-use arena is available for practice and event rentals. A non-refundable rental fee of $15/three hours is required for all practice reservations. A non-refundable rental fee of $200 per day or $100 for less than six hour events is required for all arena event rentals. An additional $100 per day security deposit is also required for all arena event rentals.

Lights and tractor fees are additional.
