Working for a while on a small island, like Symi, is such a good experience. The project was about the restoration and the conservation of a medium scale monastery, which was built at the 12th century from Christians. After then, it has been destroyed twice. So, the Ministry's

intention is to fix all the structural problems and after that to upgrade it as a monument. For this reasons, the architect's idea is to renovate the building keeping clear all its construction periods.

In that way visitors understand, when and how, these people built their place to live and pray.

still in progress what is going on with all the useless objects, clothes, furniture? are the co-working spaces the new successful office environment model? is the creativity a new area for research with benefits? what it is between the urban city and the water? how a hard boundary in front of the city can be transformed? what is the future of an old harbor, in front of the historic center of a city? is the public space a way to develop the urban life? the adaptive reuse of a building is a new way to 'house' the public needs?

house complex in Athens The project tries to combine the building composition and the urban design because the site is in city's center very close to Acropolis' hill. The neighborhood is very close to another hill of the city, which is called The Sicily's Hill, so the panoramic view is

very important. But there is a big problem with the cars, which are many. So we wanted to solve the parking problem, by making a big underground parking and give the surround roads to the people as pedestrian roads. Advanced, we tried to combine public uses,

like a theater, small offices, a 'gallery' and an open-air cinema at the lower levels of the building in order to live the higher levels for small apartments. Further we designed a walk on the hill with metal skeleton, protecting the original rock of the ground.

the consept | the idea

The decision to build something on the mountain, very close to the wild nature, is very important. That's why our team tried to use long walks, with view to the area, like a path in the woods. But, on the other side it was need for a collecting point, for all the visitors. For that, we used the main piscine of the project to collect the

walks, like collecting the water in the piscine. By that, the thermal spas are close to the ground, and with not a lot of windows, like the ottoman hamams, living the space in front to place the cafe and the rest public uses of the hotel, with the view and of course the visitors rooms, are placed a bit further, for being more privet.

Xanthi is a medium size city at the north Greece. The city used to be very rich due to the tobacco that produced in older times. The city's history is big through the years and for that reason is necessary for a place to exhibit the history. The building

is designed in that way to have a panoramic view to the old city during the visit in the halls.

The main public space connects the important sections of the building and of course through of it is the entrance to the museum.

community center The big open square, that is in front of the site of this project, is the reason to design a building with clear limits close to the roads of the city, but stay opened in front of the square. This mixed use building includes some stores, a cafe, a theater and a meeting place for young people, creative labs and an open air

cinema on the roof. In that way, all the areas of the building are open to the main public space, giving the opportunity to walkers meet each other any time. With the same idea is designed the hall for the young people's place and the creative labs, helping the users to communicate.

school The chance to design a primary school is the way to think as a kid and their need. The main idea is to design a school that it would be open to the city. The place is near the river of the city of Xanthi, so it is designed as an urban object and free-passed.

The rest classrooms, like those for arts or music, are closer to the river. There, the lessons may take place outside, too. Also, the important thing at the kids' education is to learn the 'respect' for each other. For that reason, the circle, as a shape known for the equality, chose for the plan of the meeting point, which can be used as a theater.

Kavala is a quite big, north city with a port. The most part of the town is on a hill, so there are not big flat public spaces for the city. The old harbor, in the old city center is an area ideal for updating it to the city's public space and park. The idea is to play with the water, so the users and the visitors have the chance to relax and have a walk very close to the sea. Playgrounds, courts, bike roads and green areas added to the plan. The old building transformed to a cultural house for exhibition halls, a theater and a cafe. The big ramp is easy to be used from all the people. At the tower, which placed in the sea, the visitors have a nice view at the closest islands.

In greek cities the model of the apartment building it is called 'polukatikia', which means 'many-houses'. This project is a program with nine apartments and a store. The area is close enough to the sea, so we wanted all the houses have the more it is possible. On the other way there is a big high speed road in front of the plan. So our intention is

to design a courtyard on a level higher than the road's, for being more private. The most of the houses are for 3-4 people. Each apartment is designed in two floors, to separate the everyday living spaces, like kitchen and the living room, from the bedrooms.

Because of the good weather and the view, there are big balconies for the summer.

A house for a four person family in the city contains all the basic standards for living. Further, the site of the house is in an area with small buildings under the Xanthi's mountains. So, we designed a system which includes, in a simple way, the

open air spots for relaxing and the inside areas for living. The living room and the kitchen, have their own 'verandas' in the garden. On the first floor, the kids' rooms and the master bedroom, have private balconies, with view at the garden and the mountains.

multi-houses This project is for five seasonal houses in the country. The green area has a designed 'plaza', so our intention was to include this plaza in the plan and make two more, as more private. For that, a Z shape plan was the propriety.

All the houses, for two people, are behind the wall, which

organize them in the plan. The wall with its openings, makes clearly where the shared living rooms and the private bedrooms in each house are. All the rooms, designed for having two directions view, to the hill and to the valley in front of it.

atelier-house The user of this house is an artist. He needs a working area for his sculptors, a design office and a small apartment. The site is in the beginning of the forest and close enough to the city.

That's why preferred to place the atelier and the big working space close to the road, connected to the city, and the small house

The main idea is to have a unique path throught the big space and the house. In this way, the city it is connected with the nature, through the building and the less public walks. Using the boxes helps to be clear each area of the composition.

structure A wall is a structure that defines an area, carries a load, or provides shelter or security.

Also the wall is a limit. A limit that shows where something begins. This project, the study of designing and constructing of a wall, tries to destroy the philosophical meaning of the wall, putting together the meaning of infinitive. Infinitive it

is used as a no begin or no end situation, which is the oppossite of the structure of a wall. To build an infinitive wall, we used mirrors to achieve the illusion, as left and right panels and a metal skeleton to stand. The installation uses its own parts to make stronger the impression of the infinitve width inside the wall.
