We left the restaurant and headed back to our room. We wrote mom a neutral sounding text message that we are doing just fine in Paris, as always. That whole time mom didn’t have any idea we were in Asia. We didn’t tell her so she wouldn’t worry about us too much.

We fell asleep feeling good about the whole evening. Actually, about the whole great day.

We got up at around 8 a.m. and went to get breakfast. We lingered for about two hours.

shower and then a couple of hours later we can’t keep our eyes off Julie. A bit weird, don’t you think?” said Adam.

“Well, I actually already wondered about that.

It would be amazing to have both of you in that shower,” I replied. We both probably felt like we had to explain ourselves. But we didn’t feel guilty. We just didn’t know what we wanted.

Just as we were standing up from the table with the thought of going swimming, Julie arrived. We sat down again and had another coffee.

“I’m glad I ran into you here boys. What are your plans for the day? For how much longer did you stay in the restaurant with dad yesterday?”

“We’re also glad to see you. We were just about to go to the pool for a swim,” I replied.

“Yesterday, we didn’t stay much longer. Paul left not too long after you did. After he did, the two of us sat for about half an hour longer and talked about you. You’re a gorgeous girl. We like you a lot Julie… Well, and then we went to bed.”

“Really? What did he say?” asked Julie with an astonished look on her face.

“That you’re not a girl for our bed and that we should forget about you as soon as possible,” I said truthfully.

Please forgive him, he means well. But let’s not talk about dad. We would only get to topics that none of us surely wants to talk about right now.”

“I can’t say I understand what you mean, but sure,” Adam agreed.
