YMCA MULTI-SPORTS COMPLEX, FARIDABAD (A Project of the National Council of YMCAs of India)
Report From January 2016 to June 2021 YMCA India is a pioneer in the development of sports and games. YMCA Multi-Sports Complex a project of National Council of YMCAs of India is located in Sector -17, Faridabad. YMCAs in India are profound in imparting leadership and have been actively involved in promoting local games and sports associations. YMCA Multi-Sports complex, Faridabad was a natural offshoot this endeavor. The state of Haryana has produced many top ranking sports stars of National and International Level. The YMCA Multi-Sports Complex intend to carry forward the legacy for which we are trying to provide of sports facilities and training for sports and games such as Basketball, Volleyball, Badminton, Kabaddi, Futsal (5Aside Football), Table Tennis, Pickle Ball, Lawn Tennis, Net Ball, Handball, Roller Skating, Throw ball, Yoga, Rock Climbing, Aerobics, Zumba, Cross Fit, Pool/Snooker, Gym, and Jogging Track. The YMCA Multi-Sports Complex is engaged in conducting diversified sports and social engagements. 1. First YMCA Volleyball Tournament
The First YMCA Volleyball tournament was held on 26th January 2016 at YMCA Multi- Sports Complex. Mr. Jonathan Jacob, Chairman inaugurated the Tournament. Mr.Rajiv K.John, Finance Secretary, NCYI and Mr.J.P.Fernandes, Director, Training Department, NCYI were Chief Guests and distributed the prizes and trophies. The men’s tournament composed of different Clubs and Schools from Faridabad. After fierce competition among 14 teams, “YMCA MultiSports Complex, Faridabad team won the championship and “DAV Academy” was the runnersup. The “Boora Club” won the third place against “DAV-14”. The event was a grand success with active participation from all sectors of Faridabad, with 14 teams over 250 players and more than 500 young spectators. Weather was sunny and perfect, facilitating intense yet friendly competition. For winners ,Rs.9100 was the cash prize and for runner-ups, Rs.7100/- was the prize money and for third place Rs.2100 was the cash prize and trophies were also awarded. Mr. Jonarthan Jacob (Chairman), Mr.Vinod Varghese (Vice Chairman) , Mr.Sonu Mathew, Mr.Sudir Stephen, Mr.Sumit Michael Nigam, Mr.Haresh Baisla and Mr.Koshy Alexander Vaidyan (Executive Secretary) has given the leadership for the successful conduct of the tournament.
