Report From January 2016 to June 2021 YMCA India is a pioneer in the development of sports and games. YMCA Multi-Sports Complex a project of National Council of YMCAs of India is located in Sector -17, Faridabad. YMCAs in India are profound in imparting leadership and have been actively involved in promoting local games and sports associations. YMCA Multi-Sports complex, Faridabad was a natural offshoot this endeavor. The state of Haryana has produced many top ranking sports stars of National and International Level. The YMCA Multi-Sports Complex intend to carry forward the legacy for which we are trying to provide of sports facilities and training for sports and games such as Basketball, Volleyball, Badminton, Kabaddi, Futsal (5Aside Football), Table Tennis, Pickle Ball, Lawn Tennis, Net Ball, Handball, Roller Skating, Throw ball, Yoga, Rock Climbing, Aerobics, Zumba, Cross Fit, Pool/Snooker, Gym, and Jogging Track. The YMCA Multi-Sports Complex is engaged in conducting diversified sports and social engagements.

1. First YMCA Volleyball Tournament

The First YMCA Volleyball tournament was held on 26th January 2016 at YMCA Multi- Sports Complex. Mr. Jonathan Jacob, Chairman inaugurated the Tournament. Mr.Rajiv K.John, Finance Secretary, NCYI and Mr.J.P.Fernandes, Director, Training Department, NCYI were Chief Guests and distributed the prizes and trophies. The men’s tournament composed of different Clubs and Schools from Faridabad. After fierce competition among 14 teams, “YMCA MultiSports Complex, Faridabad team won the championship and “DAV Academy” was the runnersup. The “Boora Club” won the third place against “DAV-14”. The event was a grand success with active participation from all sectors of Faridabad, with 14 teams over 250 players and more than 500 young spectators. Weather was sunny and perfect, facilitating intense yet friendly competition. For winners ,Rs.9100 was the cash prize and for runner-ups, Rs.7100/- was the prize money and for third place Rs.2100 was the cash prize and trophies were also awarded.

2. YMCA National Presidents and Treasurers Visit

The YMCA National President Mr. Lebi Philip Mathew, YMCA National Treasurer Mr. Shettian, YMCA National Executive Members Mrs. Kumari Kurias, Adv. Joseph Nellanikkan, and Adv.O.V.Joseph visited our project and promised of unconditional support to the project.

3. Republic Day Celebration

The YMCA Republic Day Celebration was held on 26th January 2016 at the complex.

The Chairman Mr. Jonathan Jacob Hoisted the National Flag and delivered the Republic Day Message. Special Sweets were distributed which was donated by Mr.Sonu Mathew, Committee Member.

6. District Kabaddi Championship (U-20), Faridabad The District Kabaddi Championship-(U20) of Faridabad was held on 3rd December 2016 at YMCA Multi-Sports Complex, Faridabad from 10AM to8PM. Mr.Vinod Varghese (Vice.

Chairman), YMCA Multi-Sports Complex Inaugurated the Championship. Mr.Jonathan Jacob (Chairman) YMCA Multi-Sports Complex Distributed the Prizes and Certificates.

The Championship was held for boys and girls Under 20 composed of different Clubs from Faridabad. 24 Teams took part in the Championship. After fierce competition among 24 teams, YMCA Multi-Sports Complex, Faridabad ‘A’ team won the Championship in Boys section and Mohana Kabaddi Club, Mohana was the Runner. Score: 12-8. In girls section Government Polytechnic Women’s College, Faridabad won the Championship and Friends Kabaddi Club was the Runner. Score: 20-6. The Championship was a grand success with active participation from all over Faridabad District with 24 teams over 300 players and more than 200 young spectators.

All Winners and Runners got Prize and Certificates. Mr.Jonathan Jacob (Chairman), Mr.Vinod Varghese (Vice Chairman), Dr.Sukpal Singh, General Secretary (District Kabaddi Association, Faridabad), Mr.Karamvir Singh (Kabaddi Coach), and Mr.Koshy Alexander Vaidyan (Executive Secretary, YMCA) has given the leadership for the successful conduct of the Championship.

7. Week of Prayer 2016

YMCA Faridabad Sports Complex organized YMCA/YWCA Week of Prayer on the theme “Leaving no one behind” on 13th November 2016 at Faridabad in three different places. At ,CNI ShanthiNivas Church, NIT, Faridabad, Mr.Vinod Varghese delivered the message on the Inaugural Day. Mr.Shekar Shaw, Tresurer of the project delivered the message on 13 th November at Christ Fellowship Church, NIT, Faridabad. Rev.PastorAbraham delivered the Message at AshrayaBhavan, Greater Faridabad.

8. Christmas celebration ‘Joy to the world’ at YMCA Faridabad Sports Complex

YMCA Multi Sports Complex, Faridabad was celebrated Christmas ‘Joy to the World’ with full spirit on 11th December 2016 at 3.30PM. Mr.K.Koshy IPS (Former Director General of Police, Haryana) was the Guest of Honor and Rev.G.Sam Mishak, Presbyter in charge (Methodist Church, Delhi) was delivered the Christmas Message. Mr.Jonathan Jacob, Chairman YMCA presided over the function. The Program was followed by Christmas Carols by the Different Churches in Faridabad. Christmas Carols sung by Christ Fellowship Church, NIT Faridabad, All Saints MarThoma Syrian Church, Sec-9, Faridabad, and Victory Church, Sec-19, Faridabad. Mr.Vinod Varghese, Mr.Sonu Mathew, Mr. Prince Varghese, Mr.Sudhir Stephen, Mr.Sumit Micheal, Mr.Saiju Vargehese Joseph, Mr.Koshy Alexander Vaidyan also spoke on the occasion

Christmas Card for Churches, YMCAs and Well-wishers (2016, 2017, 2018 & 2019) YMCA Faridabad Sports Complex sent Christmas Greeting cards to Churches and Activity Members in Faridabad, YMCA Leaders, YMCAs and Well Wishers in India to greet them on Christmas.

10. Seminar on ‘Career Guidance in Government Sector’ Seminar on Career Guidance in Government Sector was conducted for the age group of 17 years to 30 years youths on Sunday, 28th May 2017 from 4.00PM - 5.00PM at YMCA Faridabad Sports Complex. Mr.M.S.Varughese, Deputy Director, Sports Authority of India led the seminar.

More than 50 youths from various sectors of Faridabad took part in the seminar. Mr.Vinod Varghese and Mr.Koshy Alexander Vaidyan gave the leadership to the successful conduct of the seminar

11. Life School- 2017 with World Vision India

A Five day Value Education Program ‘Life School-2017’ Program was conducted from 30th May to 3rd June 2017 at YMCA Faridabad Sports Complex, Near Police Chowki, Sector-17, Faridabad. The Inauguration of the Life School was done by Mrs. Christy Abraham, Coordinator, World Vision India. Children from the Age between 4years to 12 years took part in the Life School Program. 66 children took part in the 5 days camp. Five trained teachers were

given full leadership towards the camp. Textbooks, Camp materials and refreshments were provided to the students for five days camp at no cost to the participants. This year’s theme for the Life School was Be ‘the light’ illuminate others! The camp was so meaningful and effective for the underprivileged children near to YMCA Faridabad Sports Complex. Special Thanks to Mr.Babuselvam, Manager, World Vision India (Faridabad ADP).

12. World Environment Day

World Environment Day observed at YMCA Faridabad Sports Complex. Planted 32 saplings inside the campus donated by Mr.Amarjit Singh and Mr.Nagesh Bansal from Rose Avenue adjacent to YMCA Faridabad Sports Complex.

13. First YMCA 7 A-Side Football Tournament

The YMCA 7A-Side football Tournament was held on 5th & 6th May 2017 at YMCA MultiSports Complex, Faridabad. Mr. Jonathan Jacob, Chairman, YMCA Multi-Sports Complex Inaugurated the YMCA 7A-Side football Tournament. Mr. Anand Mehta, President, Faridabad District Football Association Distributed the Prizes and Certificates. Mr.R.C.Sabarwal, (Patron & Advisor, DFA), Mr.Rahman,(Treasurer, DFA) Mr.Viond Varghese,(Vice Chairman,YMCA) Mr.Sonu Mathew, (Committee Member, YMCA), Mr.Koshy Alexander Vaidyan, Executive Secretary, YMCA Faridabad, Mr.Ashok Wadhwa, and Mr.Prateek Madan, Football Coaches YMCA Faridabad felicitated the winners. The tournament was held for boys under 14 & under 18 composed of different Schools and Clubs from Faridabad. 19 Teams took part in the Tournament. After fierce competition among teams, in Under 14 Section Hermann Gmeiner, Faridabad won against Modern School, Faridabad by 3-0 and in Under 18 Section Faridabad United won against Modern School by 5-0. The event was a grand success with active participation from all over Faridabad Sectors with 19 teams over 200 players and more than 300 young spectators. All winners and runner-ups were given Prizes and Certificates.

14. YMCA Summer Camp 2017

The YMCA Multi-Sports Complex, Faridabad conducted summer camp for kids and teens in and around Faridabad. YMCA Summer camp aims an adventurous, active and healthy summer.

YMCA camp programs offered youth fun and unique experiences with an opportunity to explore the outdoors, meet new friends, discover new interests and create memories that last a lifetime.

Attending summer camp is a wonderful opportunity for kids to keep their minds and bodies active. The YMCA Multi-Sports Complex, Faridabad offered Football, Volleyball, Athletics, Table Tennis, Cricket, Kabaddi, Karate, Rugby Football Union, Chess, Personality Development, Music Instruments, Western Dance, Public Speaking, Painting, Theatre Workshop, Pottery, Arts & Crafts, Campfire, Picnic, Certificate and so much more. Around thirty students from various sectors of Faridabad attended fifteen days camp at YMCA. The YMCA Summer Camp was inaugurated by Mrs.Mary Mashi, District Sports Officer, Faridabad and Mr.Jonathan Jacob, Chairman Presided over the function. Executive Secretary welcomed the

gathering on 20th May 2017. A leading nonprofit, committed to nurturing the potential of youth, the YMCA has been a leader in providing summer camp for nearly 132 years. The YMCA Multi-Sports Complex, Faridabad continues to give youth an enriching, safe experience with caring staff and volunteers who model positive values that help build their kids’ character. The Certificate was distributed by Mr. Jayasankar Menon, (All Star Basketball Player& Former Indian Captain) on 3rd June 2017. Dr.Sukpal Singh & Mr.Karamveer Kabaddi, Mr.Haresh Baisla, Volleyball, Mr.Ashok Wadwa and Mr.Prateek Madan, Football, Mr.Naveen, Table Tennis, Mrs.Pooja was given coaching in various games and sports. Mr.Mr.Vinod Varghese( Vice Chairman), Mr.Sonu Mathew, Committee Member and Mr.Koshy Alexander Vaidyan , Executive Secretary gave the leadership for the successful conduct of the camp.

15. YMCA World Challenge at YMCA University of Science and Technology, Faridabad YMCA World Challenge and closing function of summer camp 2017 & Life School-2017 held at YMCA University of Science and Technology, Faridabad. Mr.Jayasankar Menon Asian All Star Basketball Player and Former Indian Basketball Captain was the the Chief Guest. Prof.Dr.Dinesh Aggarwal (Vice Chancellor, YMCA University of Science and Technology) and Prof.Dr.Sanajay Kumar (Registrar, YMCA University of Science and Technology) were Guest of Honor. After 25 years we had a program at YMCA University.

16. Cricket Net Practice

A great deal of planning and substantial contributions from Mr. Sunil Karra, Committee Member of the Project ,helped us to start the cricket practice nets at YMCA Multi-Sports Complex . The welding work was made possible by Project Chairman Mr. Jonathan Jacob through his workers from his own factory. YMCA Thank and acknowledge the efforts of the team of fantastic volunteers to make the nets a reality. This included planning out the whole project and breaking it up into stages, leveling out the site, cutting and setting out the poles, setting out the concrete, this has resulted in a first rate high quality set of cricket nets in Faridabad. The Practice was started and the team is getting ready for the tournament in and around Faridabad.

17. Kabaddi Court for Women

With the support of local players and coaches in Faridabad the new Kabaddi court has been constructed for women. Kabaddi is one of the old and famous sporting events in India and excelled in famous international arenas. The Kabaddi practice has been started and gaining

confidence among the students from various sectors. Dr.Sukpal Singh, International Coach and Official and Mr.Karamveer, Kabaddi coach has given the leadership to make the court and practice a success one.

18. National Kabaddi Tournament at Nellore (AP) and Thirupur (TN)

YMCA Faridabad Sports Complex Men’s Kabaddi Team took part in the All India Invitation Kabaddi Tournament at VRC Ground, Nellore, AP from 28th to 30th April 2017 Conducted by Andhra Kabaddi Association. YMCA Played against teams from Indian Railways and Services and gave tight competition.

Three Women Kabaddi players of YMCA Faridabad took part in the All India ‘A’ Grade women’s Kabaddi Tournament at Thirupur, TamilNadu on 7 th and 8th of April 2017. Special Thanks to Dr.Sukpal Singh, International Kabaddi Coach and General Secretary of Faridabad Kabaddi Association for sending YMCA Kabaddi team for a Major Tournament. Thanks to Mr.Karamveer Singh, Coach YMCA Faridabad for his leadership.

19. All India YMCA Volleyball Tournament at Kanyakumari YMCA Faridabad Sports Complex Volleyball team took part in the All-India Inter-YMCA Volleyball Tournament 2017 held from March 29th to 31st, 2017 at the “James College of Engineering”, Navalkadu, Nagercoil hosted by YMCA Nagercoil. Eight Players from YMCA Faridabad took part in the tournament and performed well and entered in the second round of the tournament. Mr.Haresh Baisla, Voleyball coach, YMCA Faridabad and Koshy Alexander Vaidyan, Executive Secretary took leadership for taking the team for the tournament.

20. YMCA Regional Youth Assembly

The Regional Youth Assembly 2017 of North India Region of YMCAs was held at YMCA Multi-Sports Complex, Faridabad, from 21st - 23rd April 2017 hosted by YMCA Multi-Sports Complex, Faridabad where 55 delegates from Different YMCAs of North India Region were participated. “Role of youth for social transformation” was the theme for this assembly. The Youth Assembly was started with a brief devotion led by the Youth Group of YMCA MultiSports Complex, Faridabad. Mr. Jonathan Jacob, Chairman, YMCA Multi-Sports Complex gave the welcome address. Mr. M. S. Varghese, director, Sports Authority of India, (S.A.I), NewDelhi, inaugurated the Regional Youth Assembly as Chief Guest at 03.30 P.M. In his inaugural address, Mr. Varghese gave a speech which carries lot of morals and values that inspired the Youth to be sensitive towards the family and the society that they live. Mr. Peter Prem, Regional Chairman, NIRY Mr. Ch. Manikumar NGS, Mr. Jaydip Sarker, Regional Secretary NIRY, also shared their views in the inaugural session. The inaugural session was concluded with vote of thanks proposed by Mr. Koshy Alexander Vaidyan, Executive Secretary, YMCA Multi-Sports Complex, Faridabad.

After Tea Break at 04.15p.m, Mr. Peter Prem, Regional Chairman, North India Region of YMCAs and President of New-Delhi YMCA delivered the Key-Note Address on the Theme, “Role of youth for social transformation”. He started his Key-Note Address with Ecclesiastes 12 : 01, “So remember your creator when you are still young before those dismal days and years come when you will say – I don’t njoy life”. He further added that, our home is the 1st school for us and therefore the inspiration for social transformation we should learn from our home itself.

We can learn from the examples of social transformation by different leaders and prophets in the Bible. Mr. Koshy Alexander Vaidyan, Executive Secretary, YMCA Multi-Sports Complex facilitated the Ice-Breaking Session, Group division and appointment of Recording Team, Devotion Team, Cultural Team etc. The 1st day’s proceedings were concluded with a colorful cultural programme by the Youth Group of YMCA Multi-Sports Complex, Faridabad.

On 22nd April 2017, the proceeding was started with Morning Devotion conducted by the delegates. Miss Monika Roseline, a youth from Kota YMCA, shared the word of God. The 1stsession of the 2nd day was taken by Mr. Joseph Anil Benjamin, Gen. Secretary of New-Delhi YMCA on “YMCA Yesterday, Today & Tommorrow”. First he shared the historical background of starting the YMCA Movement by a group of Young people who have a vision of Social transformation where they live. He told YMCAs should not stick in their traditional activities rather it should be flexible to accept the challenges on the issues like women degradation, atrocities against women, women trafficking, poverty, unemployment, environment, terrorism and design their activities to respond on those issues. Youth should take part in the decision

making process in the YMCA. After his presentation, all the 4 groups involved in group discussion based on the question set by the speaker on his presentation “YMCA Yesterday, Today & Tommorrow”. After the group discussion they presented their group reports.

After Lunch the 2nd session of the day was taken by Mrs. Christine S. Raj, Administrative & HR Director, Transworld Radio India, Delhi on “Gender Sensitization and Youth” She told both the gender are the creation of God. God uses both men and women for his glory. Both the gender is equally required for the betterment and balanced society. She appealed to the young delegates to take the challenges in reducing gap between men and women by the different activities of the YMCAs. After the tea break, a special session with Dr.Sukpal Singh, Director, Kabbadi Association, Faridabad, Haryana were arranged. He shared his experiences how he and his team promote Kabaddi and other games in Haryana particularly in Faridabad district and how the players from this place represent in National and International event which was eye opening for the youth delegates in the Assembly. After that, Tea-Shirts were distributed to all the delegates and officials in the Assembly. At 05.30p.m. All the delegates were taken to the Rose Garden of Faridabad, where lot of games and fun took place. The 2nd day’s proceedings were concluded with Camp Fire and Heart throbbing Cultural Programme by the delegates.

On 23rd April, Sunday, the proceedings were started at 09.00 a.m. with plenary session. At the plenary, the recommendations of the Youth assembly were brought before the house by the drafting team and that was adopted after some clarifications and discussions. After his presentation, election of the Regional Youth Forum for the term 2017 – 2019 was conducted where Mr. Vipul Masih from Kota YMCA became the Chairman and Mr. Gaurav Kalyan from Ambala YMCA became the convener. After that, induction Ceremony of the newly elected Office Bearers and members of Youth Forum were conducted by Mr. Jonathan Jacob, Chairman, YMCA Multi-Sports Complex, Faridabad. The valedictory session commenced at 10.15 a.m. In the valedictory, delegates from each YMCA present in the assembly shared their feelings and experience about the assembly. Mr. Jonathan Jacob, Chairman, YMCA Multi-Sports Complex, Faridabad, Mr. Jaydip Sarker, Regional Secretary, NIRY, Mr. Koshy Alexander Vaidyan, Executive Secretary, YMCA Multi-Sports Complex, Faridabad also shared their views in the Valedictory session. The Youth Assembly of North India Region was concluded with vote of thanks proposed by Mr. Jaydip Sarker, Regional Secretary followed by Holy Communion Church service.

21. YMCA Quasquicentennial Award

The YMCA Faridabad Sports complex was awarded YMCA Quasquicentennial Award by Indian YMCA at St.Paul’s Cathedral, Kolkata hosted by YMCA Calcutta. Chairman Mr. Jonathan Jacob Received the award on behalf of YMCA Faridabad. We express my sincere gratitude to Mr.Lebi Philip Mathew, National President and Mr.Ch.R.P.Manikumar, National General Secretary for selecting YMCA Faridabad Sports Complex as a recipient of the YMCA Quasquicentennial Award.

22. Mr.Sebastain George Visit

Mr.Sebastain George, National Volleyball Player, Sports Organizer and Brother of Great Volleyball Player Jimmy George was visited YMCA Faridabad on 22 nd March 2017. He met YMCA volleyball players and shared his experiences and vision for the development of the game in India.

23. Pickle ball Introduced at YMCA Faridabad Sports Complex New game Pickelball introduced at YMCA Faridabad Sports complex. Mr.Sunil Walawalker, Founder Secretary of Pickelball Association of India took the introductory session at YMCA Complex.

24. Olympic Peace Painting Competition

Olympic Peace Painting Competition was held at YMCA during Olympics. Around 80 students from WASO School took part in the competition. The theme for the competition was ‘Sports for Peace. Prize distribution of the competition was held at WASO School. Winners were awarded with certificates and medals. The prizes were sponsored

by Mr. Prince Varghese, Committee member of YMCA Faridabad.

25. Grassroots level Training Programme for YMCA Football Coaches Two Football coaches Mr.Ashok Kumar and Mr.Prateek Madan of YMCA Multi-Sports Complex, Faridabad took part in the Grassroot level training program and AIFF D License Certificate Program from 14th December’2016 to 18th December’ 2016, at Dr. Ambedkar Stadium conducted by Reliance Foundation

26. Football Team District Championship YMCA Football team took part in District Tournaments at Modern School Faridabad and Sector12 Championship. U-18 and U-14 boys were played for the tournament.

27. Project Construction Committee The construction committee of YMCA Faridabad Sports Complex was actively meeting and evaluating the progress of the new Sports Complex at YMCA Faridabad. Mr.Jonathan Jacob, Chairman, Mr.Sunny Joshua, MrJovial Vagela, Mr.Shekar Shaw and Mr.Udipta Fullerton are main contributor for the committee.

28. Foundation Stone Laying Cermony The foundation stone laying ceremony of YMCA Multi-Sports Complex, Faridabad was held on 9thApril 2018. Dr.Lebi Philip Mathew, President, National Council of YMCAs of India laid the foundation stone. Mr.CH.R.P.Manikumar, National General Secretary, NCYI, introduced the project. Rev.James Thomas, Vicar, All Saints Marthoma Church, Faridabad blessed the function.

Mr.Koshy Mathew, Correspondent & Secretary, YMCA College of Physical Education, Mr.Tomy Prothasis, Chairman, YMCA Central India Region, Mr.Norris Pritham, Chairman, Media & Communication, NCYI, Mr.Kapil Mangala, Architect, Nirman Architects, Faridabad delivered greetings on the occasion. Mr.Vinod Varghese, Vice-Chairman, YMCA Faridabad Sports Complex proposed the vote of thanks.

29. District Kabaddi Championship, Faridabad

YMCA Faridabad Sports Complex women team won the Faridabad Senior District Kabaddi Championship held at Faridabad Sports Complex, Sector 12, Faridabad. Ms.Anita Mavi, Gold Medalist of Incheon Asian Games played for YMCA Faridabad Sports Complex. Special thanks to Dr.Sukpal Singh Kabaddi Coach and District Secretary. Faridabad Senior District Kabaddi Championship was inaugurated by Mr.Rajesh Chechi, ACP Crime Faridabad.

Mrs.Sigy Thomas Vaidhyan IAS, Director(Education), NITI Aayog, New Delhi was the Guest of Honor and Rev.Pr.Joshua Lal, Pastor, First Pentecostal Church was delivered the Christmas Message. Mr.Jonathan Jacob, Chairman YMCA presided over the function. The Program was followed by Christmas Carols by the Different Churches in Faridabad. Christmas Carols sung by Shanti Niwas CNI Church, Baptist Church, Methodist Church, Christ Fellowship Church, Agape Fellowship Church and First Pentecost Church.

31. ‘YMCA Paralympic Sports Festival’ YMCA Faridabad Sports Complex organized ‘YMCA Paralympics Sports Festival’ in association with Sanjoepuram Children’s Village on 28th April 2018 at Sanjoepuram Children’s Village, Chandpur, Faridabad. Rev.Fr.Mathew Thoomullil, Executive Director, Sanjoepuram Children’s Village inaugurated the festival. 70 children took part in the event in different categories. Medals and certificates were awarded to winners. Mr.Sonu Mathew, Board Member, YMCA Faridabad Sports Complex gave away the prize. Sports Festival was sponsored by Mr.Thomas Ediculla, Industrialist, Faridabad. Dr.Sukpal Singh, Paralympic Official, Faridabad gave the technical support for the event. FIFA U-17 World Cup was held at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium (JLNS), New Delhi. YMCA Football players participated and encouraged team India for the world cup. India Vs USA, India Vs Ghana & India Vs Colombia and other different matches were witnessed by YMCA Players.

Complimentary Ticket was arranged by Mr.Sreejit.K.P. , Sports Authority of India (SAI), New Delhi.

Thanksgiving Prayer meeting and farewell to Mr.Vinod Varghese Farewell and Thanksgiving Prayer Meeting of Mr.Vinod Varghese, Vice-chairman, YMCA Faridabad Sports Complex was held on 9th of May 2018. Mr.Jonathan Jacob, Chairman, delivered a message from the word of God. Mr.Sonu Mathew, Mr.Prince Varghese, and Mr.Sumit Michael Nigam conveyed their greetings. Mr.Jonathan Jacob, Chairman presented a Memento to Mr.Vinod Varghese for his outstanding contribution and service to YMCA Faridabad Sports Complex. 37. YMCA Summer Camp 2018 The YMCA Summer Camp was inaugurated by Mr.Bhupender Singh, Asian Games Medalist in Athletics. Mr.Ch.R.P.Manikumar, National General Secretary, YMCA India was the Guest of Honor. Mr. Jonathan Jacob, Chairman Presided over the function. Mr.Sonu Mathew, Board member welcomed the gathering. Mr.Shekar Shaw, Treasurer, Introduced the Chief Guest.

38. Project Construction Committee The construction committee of YMCA Faridabad Sports Complex met five times in the last year and evaluated the progress of the new Sports Complex at YMCA Faridabad. The Architect has finished the final plan and waiting for the submission in HUDA(Haryana Urban Development Authority). Dr.Lebi Philip Mathew, National President and Mr.Ch.R.P.Mani Kumar, National General Secretary wholeheartedly desire to finish the dream project of Indian YMCA as soon as possible.

39. YMCA Regional Women and Gender Assembly YMCA Faridabad Sports Complex actively participated in the YMCA North India Regional Women and Gender Assembly held at YMCA Kota. 13 Members took part in the assembly.

40. CSR ‘Corporate Social Responsibility’ was applied to various Government Agencies, NGOs, and MNCs for the development of the project. Mr.Udipta Fullonton, Secretary, Recourse Mobilization is extending his full support for applying in various companies.

ISL (Indian Super League): Mascot and Volunteers ISL (Indian Super League): Football Player of YMCA Multi-.Sports Complex, Faridabad was selected for mascots and volunteering at the ISL (Indian Super League) football matches held at JL stadium, New Delhi. 28 YMCA Players selected for volunteering the ISL.

42. Masihi Qawwalies. YMCA Multi-Sports Complex, Faridabad organized an evening of ‘Masihi Qawwalies’ a memorizing musical program, at the YMCA Multi-Sports Complex gound, on Saturday the 20th April, 2019 at 5.30pm. Mr.Sunny Samson, son of late. Samson Massey of Faridabad a great Musician and founder of the group has led the program.

‘Masihi Qawwalies’ not only aims to draw the body of believers to a simple singing session but it is more a spiritual and life transforming experience with God. The ‘Masihi Qawwalies’ team is comprised of nine musicians who have been in the Christian music ministry for over 38 years, enjoys the credit of successfully releasing five Albums and has been recognized with several awards and appreciations for their inspirational worship. Youth Members of Christ Fellowship Assembly Church performed the opening Qawwalies. The

God’s Musical night was inaugurated by YMCA Project Chairman Mr.Jonathan Jacob.

YMCA Faridabad Youth Members actively took part in the ‘Masihi Qawwalies’.

43. Hike to Manger. The YMCA Sports complex, Faridabad organized hiking to Manger, village in Arravalie Hills. Around 30 Hi-Y (High School YMCA) & Uni-Y (University YMCA) Students and Youths took part in the hiking. It was a new experience for the YMCA youths to explore the nature and have adventure.

44. ‘Kalaripayattu’ ‘Kalaripayattu’ Mother of All Martial Art was started in the YMCA Faridabad Sports Complex.

Shri.Sumesh.P.B Gurukkal, Former T.I.E. Artist, National School of Drama, New Delhi lead the class on Monday and Wednesday from 7PM to 8PM. A demonstration of Kalaripayattu was held on 21st May 2018 at YMCA Faridabad Sports Complex.

Junior District Kabaddi Championship Kabaddi Team (Under 20 Boys) of YMCA Multi-Sports Complex, Faridabad secured second position in the Junior District Kabaddi Championship held at DCM Senior Secondary School, Sector-9, Faridabad on 29th September 2019. YMCA lost the final game against Mohana Kabaddi club by 18- 14. Our sincere gratitude to Dr.Sukpal Singh, Kabaddi Coach and District Secretary for his guidance and support.

46. YMCA 175th year celebration YMCA 175th year celebration. YMCA Multi-Sports Complex has celebrated YMCAs 175th year birthday on 6th June 2019. Mr.Jonathan Jacob, Chairman inaugurated the founder’s day celebration.

47. YMCA Meals on Wheels

YMCA Meals on Wheels is a project that delivers meals to under privileged children at slum areas of Faridabad. The Slum-delivered meal program significantly improves diet quality, increase nutrient intakes, reduce food insecurity and improve quality-of-life among the poor children in and around Faridabad. The project was inaugurated by Mr.Jonathan Jacob on 23 rd of March 2019 and distributed hundred packets of food in the slum area of Sector-17, Faridabad. Again on 10th April and 13th April more than 250 packets of food were distributed in sector-8 and 9. Senior District Kabaddi Championship Faridabad 2019 & 2020 The YMCA Multi-Sports Complex, Faridabad Men’s and Women’s Kabaddi teams were both crowned the Senior District Kabaddi Championship after beating Jawan Sports Club and Friends Sports Club on Tuesday,29th October 2019 at YMCA Sports Complex, Sector-17, Faridabad. In women section YMCA defeated Friends Sports Club by 19-13 and men’s section YMCA defeated Jawan Sports Club by 26-16. Mr.K.Koshy.IPS (Retd), Director General of Police, Haryana distributed the Prizes and Medals to the winners.

50. The Christmas Bonfire The Christmas Bonfire was organized on 23rd December 2019 at 6.30PM. Mr.Narsi Ram, Silver Medalist of South Asian Federation Games, International Athlete and Railway Athletic Coach were the Chief Guest and lit the Christmas Bonfire. Mr.Surender Singh, International Kabaddi Player and Coach of SSB (Sashastra Seema Bal), Faridabad was the Guest of Honor. 52. International Women’s Day Celebration To honor womanhood, the North India Region of YMCAs celebrated the International Women’s Day on 8th March 2020 at YMCA Multi-Sports Complex, Faridabad. For the celebration, Chief Guest was Mrs.Anita Mavi, Gold Medalist in Kabaddi, Incheon Asian Games 2014. During the event Mrs.Anita shared her tales of struggle and success, further she said, gender equality is very important for a healthy society. 53. Covid-19 Relief Work(First Wave) Volunteers rendered service of 536 hours, packing 2820 food packets and served drinking water to the needy.

YMCA Multi- Sports Complex, Faridabad, worked with the local government authorities of Faridabad in addressing the hunger and hardship of the underprivileged people. Food Packets were distributed to the Government Shelter/ Relief Centers from April 2, 2020. The Project also supported 30 families at Sector 21 D Faridabad affected by COVID-19 lockdown. YMCA Faridabad Project has also initiated distribution of food kits (Grocery) to the people of daily wages, rickshaw pullers and house maids and their families. In the second phase, Project worked with Indian Red Cross Society and distributed 2820 food packets. Fifty six families benefitted with food kit. During the third phase distributed food packets and Grocery kits and also supported Sanjoepuram Children's Village an institute for differently-abled Children.

54. Inspector Mr.Karmbir Singh, SHO, Commissionerate, Sector-17, Faridabad Launches “Wear a Mask” Public Awareness Campaign in Response to Surge in COVID-19 Cases in Faridabad.

As COVID-19 cases rose throughout the Haryana State, YMCA Multi-Sports Complex, Faridabad (A Project of YMCA India) commenced, the fourth phase of COVID-19 Relief work. Inspector Mr.Karmbir Singh inaugurated the “Wear a Mask” public awareness campaign on 20 July, 2020, encouraging Faridabadians to use face covering – one of the best ways people can protect themselves and others from the fatal virus. The masks were handed over by Dr.Sukpal Singh, YMCA Kabaddi Coach. The YMCA has distributed 1500 reusable masks to COVID-19 Control Room, Red Cross Society, Government offices, NGOs, Markets and Public Places. YMCA Multi-Sports Complex Chairman Mr.Jonathan Jacob, Mr.Sonu Mathew, Treasurer Mr.Prince Varghese, Committee Member and Koshy Alexander Vaidyan, Executive Secretary is giving leadership to the campaign.

55. ‘YMCA Virtual Summer camp, the new normal’ The YMCA Multi-Sports Complex, Faridabad was conducted Virtual Summer Camp from 22nd June to 1st July 2020 at 5PM to 7PM. The YMCAVirtual Summer Camp has been provided children and young people from 10 to 18 years old with an online intercultural experience and interaction with peers and leaders from India and other countries, fostering their intercultural awareness using English as the medium to expand their connections to the world while having fun with activities inspired by YMCA Summer Camps. Campers were enjoyed meaningful activities where they learned new skills, engaged in fun experiences and maintain virtual social interaction with other children their age.

Virtual Summer Camp Highlights The Virtual Summer camp was inaugurated by Hon.Justice.J.B.Koshy (Retd) YMCA National President, and the Guest of Honor was Mr.Bertram Devadas, National General Secretary. YMCA Multi-Sports Complex, Faridabad (A Project of YMCA India) ‘Feed the Hunger’ cooked Food assistance for migrant families affected by the COVID-19 lockdown in association with "SEEDS INDIA" and Red Cross Society Faridabad. Food distribution has been Restarted from August and distributed to migrant workers and families in Faridabad on Thiruvonam Day on 31st August 2020. The cooked food packets were distributed by Mr.Sonu Mathew, Treasurer of YMCA Multi-Sports Complex, Faridabad. 60. Online Training on : Digital Marketing for Campaigns Online Training on Digital Marketing for Campaigns was held on 20 thSeptember 2020 from 3PM to 7Pm on Zoom for 4 hours. Based on the topic the main course content was Introduction to Digital Marketing, Understanding and using the Business Model Canvass, Copywriting – certain Powerful Headlines, Facebook Advertising and WhatsApp for business. Mr. Michael Cheong Zhi Xian certified eUshawan Trainer and Assistant General Secretary of Penang YMCA and his team from Trainers and Coaches Network Malaysia took the online class for the YMCA Leaders and Professionals in India. Along with Mr.Michael Cheong , Don Choo, and Dr.Hariz Muhamad took the leadership to conduct the training. 35 YMCA Leaders took part in the training program.

62. Observance of National Sports Day

The observance on National Sports Day virtual online programme was organized by the YMCA National Organizing Committee for Sports & Games under the aegis of The National Council of YMCAs of India in association with YMCA Multi-Sports Complex Faridabad (A Project of the NCYI) and celebrated on 29th August 2020.The programme started with a word of prayer by Mr. Franklin, Vice-Chairman of the National Organizing Committee for Sports & Games. The National President of the NCYI, Hon’ble Justice J B Koshy was the Chief Guest and he delivered the inaugural address. Mr. Jose Nettikkadan, the Chairman of the National Organizing Committee for Sports & Games has presided the programme. Mr. Jonathan Jacob, Chairman of Faridabad Project welcomed the participants.

Special address was given by the Celebrity Guests Olympian Mr. P R Sreejesh, Padma Shri & Arjuna Awardee and the former Captain of Indian Olympic Hockey Team, Olympian Couple Mrs. Jincy Philip, Dhyan Chand Awardee and Olympian Mr. P. Ramachandran. The Guest of Honor speech given by the Mr.M.S.Varghese, Director of Sports Authority of India, New Delhi and Mr. Bertram Devadas, The National General Secretary of the NCYI. Keynote Address was by Dr. George Abraham, Principal of YMCA College of Physical Education at Chennai. The session panelists Dr. Nagarajan M.S., Manager of Sports, Special Olympics, Asia & Pacific Region. Mr. Norris Pritam, International Sports Reporter, New Delhi, Mr. Sunny Joshuva, Vice President, Athletic Federation of India. Dr. Sukpal Singh, Chairman, Amateur Kabaddi Federation of Haryana Referee Board, Mr. Ajith Markose, HighPerformance Coach, Reliance High-Performance Centre, Orissa was speaking at the occasion. The session moderator Mr. Sebastian Francis, Head of Operations, Montfort Schools, Chennai, expressed the endeavours to reach the vision of the sports. The YMCA Anthem played before the closing prayer. The programme anchored by Miss. Mahima Agarwal and the closing prayer led by Mr. Manoj George, Founder President of Dubai YMCA, and left each one of us with the spirit of YMCA, Nation, Sports & Games, Integrity, and Harmony. 62. Virtual Kalaripayattu by Master. Shaji John, School of Kalaripayattu Chennai.

YMCA Multi-Sports Complex, Faridabad has started Virtual Kalarippayattu from 4 th September 2020. The classes will be conducted on Monday and Friday from 5PM to 6PM on ZOOM online Platform. Eight students from around the world are taking part in the training program. Master.Shaji K John, a professional Kalaripayattu instructor, is a student of Shri E P Vasudevan Gurukkal, Kerala. Trained in the traditional Kalaripayattu of the northern style for nearly 10 years, Master.Shaji has performed in major productions of Chandralekha since 1986.

He has traveled extensively the world over, including US, Japan, Singapore, London, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Canada, Denmark, Germany, Russia, Brazil, Austria, Holland, France, Germany, Reunion, etc and has also conducted Kalaripayattu interactive workshops as part of international cultural exchange programme. Master.Shaji is a recipient of Theater

Communications Group International Fellowship and is an artist in residence with Pangea World Theater, Minneapolis, U.S. Master.Shaji started regular Kalaripayattu classes in Chennai in 1998 and since then has been conducting regular classes in various parts of Chennai. The Kalari massage Chikilsa, a part of Kalaripayattu, is used for various treatment combined with Ayurvedic medicines. Master.Shaji treats people with such ailments

The world YMCA and World YWCA Week of Prayer and World Fellowship was jointly organised by four of the National YMCA Projects India viz., YMCA Multi-Sports Complex, Faridabad, YMCA Health & Healthy Living Centre, Vellore, YMCA Youth Centre, Bhimtal and YMCA Programme Centre-Kurnool. Justice (Retd.) J. B, Koshy National President, NCYI inaugurated the program on the first day. Harry Crow Buck(H.C.Buck)Institute of Sports, Physical Education & Vocational Training The New initiative of YMCA Multi-Sports Complex, Faridabad is to start an Institute for Sports, Physical Education and Vocational Training. 84. COVID-19 Relief Work: Second Wave (First Phase) As COVID-19 pandemic spread across the world, many of our most vulnerable communities are jobless, migrant workers and slum dwellers are faced with food insecurity, loss of income and lack of hygiene and protective equipment. YMCA Multi-Sports Complex, Faridabad aims to reduce the impact of COVID-19 on these communities through Cooked Food, Dry Food Kit, and Protective Medical Materials. During the pandemic second wave, YMCA Multi-Sports Complex, Faridabad provided short term supplies for COVID-19 affected communities in lockdown, delivered 1200 cooked food packets to Covid Care centers, Slum dwellers and Migrant labourers. YMCA has distributed Protective Medical supplies to crematorium workers. More than 7000 sets of medical kits including surgical masks, N95 Mask, PPE, Sanitizers, Gloves, and Face Shield have been distributed to crematorium workers in Faridabad.

Cooked Food Packets to Covid Care Centers, Slum Dwellers and Migrant Workers YMCA Multi-Sports Complex, Faridabad has delivered 1200 cooked food Packets to Covid Care centers, Slum dwellers and Migrant labourers from 17 th May 2021 with the directives of Deputy Commissioner of Faridabad and Secretary, Red Cross Society, Faridabad. The cooked meals are distributed in Covid Care Centre, Sector 15A, Slums in Sector-17, Sector-8, Sector-9 &10. The Meals are handed over to Mr.Vikas Kumar, District Secretary, Indian Red Cross, Faridabad Mr.Purushotam Saini, and Mr.Vikas Kandalval, Red Cross Faridabad for food distribution during COVID-19 pandemic. Protective Medical Materials to Crematorium workers and Undertakers.

Most crematorium workers come from India's marginalized communities and often inherit a job that nobody else much wants. Community relies on them yet few appreciate them or understand the dangers that are now routine. YMCA has distributed Protective Medical supplies to crematorium workers in Faridabad.

Covid- 19 Protective Medical Essentials to crematorium workers, each Medical kit contains:

1. N95 Mask - 20nos 2. Sanitizer - 5Ltrs 3. Hand Gloves - 100nos 4. Surgical mask - 500nos 5. Face shield - 20nos 6. PPE Kit - 1no “They are working 8 to 10 hours a day with little protective equipment. The YMCA has distributed protective medical materials to crematorium workers to 9 crematoriums in Faridabad.

Mr.Thomas K.Thomas, Secretary, Y’s Men’s Club of Faridabad and Mr.Koshy Alexander Vaidyan, Executive Secretary has been traveled across the city to supply crematorium workers with safety kits. “Sadly, many workers are not aware of the safety measures they should be taking while handling bodies of COVID victims.” Mr.Thomas said he found on his visits.

85. The YMCA North India Region and Y’s Men’s Club of Faridabad Distributed Food Grains to TB Patients in Faridabad The YMCA North India Region in association with Y’s Men’s Club of Faridabad and Indian Red Cross Society, Faridabad has distributed Dry Food Grains to the Tuberculosis Patients.

110 people have been provided dry ration, which would help them survive for a month. One dry ration kit fulfils the food requirements of one individual for a month. The distribution took place as part of ‘Heal the World’ project of ‘Y’s Men International’ the service club of YMCA. 110 food kits were distributed by Mr.Vikas Kumar, Secretary, Indian Red Cross Society, Faridabad, Mr.Thomas K.Thomas, Secretary, Y’s Men’s Club of Faridabad and Mr.Jaydip Sarker, Regional Secretary, YMCA North India Region. COVID-19 Relief Work (Second Wave)

COVID-19 Relief Work from April 2020 COVID-19 has shaken the world, causing unprecedented uncertainty thus disrupting family and work life. The pandemic is affecting tens of thousands of people in profound ways including loss of work, lack of medical care and food supplies. The outbreak has had a significant impact on the most vulnerable population including the elderly, women and children of Faridabad.

Understanding the severity of this virus, YMCA Multi-Sports Complex, Faridabad pledged to stand along with the local government authorities of Faridabad in eradicating the hunger and hardships of the underprivileged with the support of National Council of YMCAs of India. With this in mind, started “Meals on Wheels” to provided food to the hunger. YMCA has delivered 100 cooked food Packets to the Government Shelter / Relief Centers wef 2nd April 2020 through government officials assigned for the food distribution. YMCA Faridabad has also initiated distribution of food kits to the daily wagers, rickshaw pullers and house maid communities to support their family’s food requirement. Food kit containing Wheat flour of 5kgs, Rice 2kgs, Oil One ltr, Tea Powder 100gms, Sugar One kg, Pulses Half Kg, Biscuits, and Salt one kg, is good enough for a family of five to survive for a week’s time. The concept of Meals on wheels and food kit distribution is only to “feed the hunger” and nothing else. YMCA Multi-Sports Complex, Faridabad were distributed 2820 cooked food packets, 1500 reusable masks, 56 food kits and 175 kgs of food grains to differently abled school. YMCA Multi-Sports Complex, Faridabad is also initiated online training programs, Virtual retreat programs, and Virtual Summer Camp.

Covid – 19 second wave relief work from May 2021 The second wave of COVID-19 is affecting most of the world. The scenario is very grim in India where the daily count on April 15, 2021 itself is double of the first peak. The spread of the second wave is much faster than the first wave. APAY Advance Training

The 37th batch of the Advanced Studies Program took place from 4th to 29 th November 2019 at Wu Kwai Sha Youth Village, Hong Kong. 14 YMCA professionals undergo the advance studies program. Participants from Asia, YMCA Madagascar from African Alliance and YMCA Peru from Latin American Alliance successfully completed the advanced studies program. The primary subjects of the course were YMCA Mission, Contextual Theology, Social Analysis, Biblical Reflection Approaches, Movement Strengthening and Global Alternative Tourism Network. The participants were also made acquainted with the topics of Peace Building, Conflict Resolution, Gender Mainstreaming, Global Citizenship Education, Social and Solidarity Economy, Organizational Review, Strategic Planning and Sustainable Development Goals. Dr. Chang Yoon-Jae(South Korea), Mr. Orson Sargado (Philippines), Dr. Hope Antone(Hong Kong), Mr. Nam Boo Won, General Secretary APAY, Mr. Chan Beng Seng(APAY), Ms. Cristina Miranda, (Executive Secretary, APAY) and Mr. Duncan Chowdhury, Executive Secretary Programmes, APAY conducted the sessions for the

Advanced Studies Program this year. The Inauguration Dinner for the participants was held on the evening of 4th November hosted by the YMCA of Hong Kong. Ms. Julia Ong, Vice President of the YMCA of Hong Kong welcomed all the guests at the ceremony. Mr. William Fu, President of the Council of YMCAs of Hong Kong delivered words of felicitations while Mr. Peter Ho, General Secretary of the YMCA of Hong Kong delivered words of inspiration for the participants. Mr. Yau Chung Wan, President of the Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong was also present at the ceremony and spoke words of inspiration for the participants. The Graduation Dinner of the 37th Advanced Studies Program was held on 29th of November hosted by the Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong.

Mr. Philip Poon, Member of the Board of Directors of Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong and Vice President of APAY, delivered the welcome address. Mr. Ronald Yam, Treasurer of the World Alliance of YMCA and Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong and former Treasurer of APAY, spoke on the occasion, congratulating the graduates and spoke motivational words for the graduates. Mr. Karl Lau, General Secretary of the Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong was also present at the ceremony. The participants from India were Mr.Ashish Thorat from YMCA Bombay, Mr.Pravin Kumar Daniel McKenzie from Poona YMCA, and Mr.Koshy Alexander Vaidyan from YMCA Multi-Sports Complex, Faridabad.
