Wap Lake Road

18 km west of Revelstoke. Turn left at the top of the three lane hill approx 2.5 kms west of Three Valley Gap. The Wap Lake area is great for family riding as over 150 kms of ungroomed trails lead through the scenic Monashee Mountain wilderness.

Watch out for the moose and please maintain even speeds to save the trails.

Access to Griffin, Joss and Mt Begbie alpine areas are from this area as well.

A quide is recommended for these high avalanche expert riding areas of Joss and Mt Begbie.

Drive 40 kms south on Hwy 23 for another good family to expert riding area.

Parking is off the road on the West side or at the Shelter Bay junction, then take the logging road that heads right up the mountain.

Near the top you can take the easier logging road route into the Alpine or veer off into the trees for expert tree riding.

Either way something for everyone.

For more of a family ride, stay on the logging road and head for Coursier Lake.

This is a good foggy day ride as well.

Always remember to be prepared.

Iron Road

Griffin is a great ride when the weather gets clouded in. The ungroomed trail leads to the upper cutblocks then through the trees into the alpine. Some of our best tree riding happens on Griffin. NO brushing has been done on this trail so early season can be a little tricky with alder and for that reason best riden later in the season. This is an easier ride once trail has been put in.

The Revelstoke Snowmobile Club ( RSC) is proud of their infrastructure of cabins, and well marked groomed trails on both Boulder Mtn and Frisby Ridge. At the base of both Boulder and Frisby you will be asked to provide your yearly membership decals or pay for your daily trail fee. The booth attendants will also be able to provide information that will assist you in enjoying our areas to the fullest. We have plenty of additional areas that have ungroomed trails for your enjoyment.

We would not be able to provide this infrastructure or work with Government to keep our riding areas open without the support of our Corporate Partners. We ask that whenever possible, you support our Corporate Partners. They keep our sport alive.

Mt. Begbie

Mt. Begbie will give you the nicest views of Revelstoke and the valley. By going up Begbie you will be able to ride up to the toe of the glacier that overlooks Revelstoke from the west.

There is some nice tree riding and open bowl climbing in this area. To access Begbie you must sled through some extreme avalanche area. Use extreme caution and check the Avalanche Bulltetins before proceeding in this area.

This is best for a sunny day ride.

Sale Mountain

Joss is a new addition to our riding area and is a sunny day ride only. It also access’s Two Moon Lake. There are two routes in, the longer Wap Lake Road turning left on Iron Road, total length is approx 50 km one way.

The shorter route off of Wap Lake Road takes you up some extreme and expert terrain. You are in extreme avalanche area if you decide to take the shorter route.

Always check the avalanche conditions and have all safety gear with you.

Once in the alpine, you will be extremely impressed by the open alpine riding, and exploring the route back into Two Moon Lake.

We do share Two Moon Lake with a cat ski company so please respect their ski operation. Do not go past Two Moon Lake as this is the boundary of the ski tenure.

This is a popular riding area south of Revelstoke. It is accessed

by Hwy 23 South, turning right just before ferry, and go down logging road for approx 5 kms to log dump.

It is a long road ride in taking you to beautiful Alpine riding. If the weather is right you can drop down to Margie Lake. Margie Lake is also the boundary for a ski touring company that has a tenure in area so please respect and do not go past Margie Lake.

This is a ride to save for a sunny day, big country, and take extra gas.

Follow Airport Way south, on the east side of the Columbia River, to the end of the road ( approx 18 km) until it is no longer plowed. Unload for some great riding on 75 km of roads which go on forever. This is a super area for novice and expert alike.

Mt McCrae, a small, but challenging area 20 km south of town.

Mainly road riding with a trail to high ( 8000 ft) alpine area.

Good family ride. Access to alpine may require a quide. Do not ride on Active Logging Roads Riding altitude 3000 - 8000 ft

This is one of the two mountain areas that the Revelstoke Snowmobile Club has a management agreement on. It offers four groomed trails on your way up to the Cabin and then on to the alpine. To access this riding area turn North off Hwy # 1 just west of silver bridge at the lights.

Travel on west side road 8km to Frisby Parking lot which is located under the transmission powerlines. From the parking lot you can access Frisby Ridge or take Streeter Street over to Boulder Mtn. The well marked and groomed trails will take you from the parking lot right to the highest view point on Frisby.

From there you will ride some of the best tree riding or stay on ridge and head to the back end burn.

This is a great mountain that offers family to expert riding, treed areas to open bowls.

Stop in at our newly built cabin and sign into the book before heading out onto ridge.

Keystone Basin Always a popular area, which is 52 kms North on Hwy 23 and note parking is limited. This is a very large area with vast open bowls. Make sure you check the avalanche conditions before heading up the Keystone. It is a remote area so take extra gas and gear accordingly.

There are some seasonal snowmobile closure areas North of the Keystone trail and south of the Keystone cabin. Watch for caribou and please respect these closures.

The front side of Keystone has some great tree riding for low visability days, but the back end to Keystone needs to be saved for a clear day. In order to access the back end of Keystone you must first cross a shovelled out area.

Snowmobile Closure The Revelstoke Snowmobile Club promotes ‘Best operating practices in wildlife habitat.” You are responsible to know where and when the closures are and to stay out of these areas. If wildlife is encountered on a designated trail, please refrain from approaching. Make every effort to stay as far away from wildlife as safely possible.

Caribou Basin is accessed by Hwy 23 N approximately 108 kms North.

This is our furthest most riding area but well worth the drive.

The front end has some great tree riding which leads to two massive bowls. You can also go up the backside up the Brewster logging road.

There are seasonal snowmobile closures on this mountain so make sure you are aware before heading out. Closed January 1 - April 15 inclusive.

This is another area that has extreme avalanche hazards, so check avalanche bulletins and have your avalanche gear.

Yet another popular area 18 km North of Revelstoke on Hwy 23. Parking is limited on Hwy so use caution.

A road leads to top of the mountain which allows for early and late access to the alpine.

There is a BC Hydro communication tower on top, and this is private property so please respect and do not go near.

Sale Mtn has some seasonal snowmobile closures due to caribou south of the tower. This area borders Mt Revelstoke National Park to the south. There is NO riding in the park area at all. Altitude 4,000 - 7,000 ft.

You are travelling through Heli Ski Tenure when going up the ungroomed trail on the Front Turtle. Please stay on trail until you have reached the open bowls of the alpine. Do not sled on any of the ski runs.

Trail

This is Revelstoke’s premier Riding area. To access this riding area turn North off Hwy # 1 just west of silver bridge at lights.

Travel on west side road 4 km to the Boulder parking lot.

From the parking lot you can access Boulder or take Streeter Street over to Frisby Ridge.

From the two large parking lots you will travel over 50kms of groomed trails that lead into the Alpine. There are three main groomed trails heading up to the cabin.

Boulder offers terrain for all riding abilities from open bowls to expert tree riding.

You will ride in our famous super and sugar bowls, drop into Kirkup Lakes and back to Turbo Hill. Be aware of high avalanche hazards on the expert terrain and remember it is your responsibility to check avalanche conditions before heading out.

Please be sure to stop in at the Boulder cabin which is located at the end of the Kirkup trail in the alpine meadow and sign in before heading past the cabin.
