For more than 40 years, we have held safety as the highest priority. Our team of dedicated professionals are highly trained, experienced, and will provide all guests with the tools to be aware and comfortable with their surroundings. Purcell’s owner, Rudi Gertsch, was instrumental in establishing the standards of heli-skiing safety in British Columbia, and we proudly meet and exceed those standards still.
We are the closest heli-ski operator to Banff, making for easy day trips from Banff and Lake Louise, and right on the Trans-Canada highway. We specialize in single-day and flexible multiday packages, so you have the freedom to fit heliskiing into your holiday when it suits you best.
WE GROUP BY ABILITY. (REALLY) Purcell is the pioneer of Custom Group Heli-Skiing, which offers in-the-field group customization and the best guide-to-guest ratio in the industry to give you the freedom to ski at your pace. Groups of 9 guests and 3 guides are split by ability, get their own guides, plus a tail guide to sweep for safety. No waiting if you’re fast, and no more pressure if you’re slower.
While in Golden, you may want to visit our local ski resort, Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, which has earned its reputation for big vertical and exciting terrain. We’re also just a short hop from the great ski resorts of Sunshine, Lake Louise and Revelstoke Mountain Resort.
We have incredible snow. The Purcell Mountains, where we have the pleasure of heli-skiing, are part of British Columbia’s famous Interior Ranges, where fresh, fluffy snow just keeps coming. Unlike the Coast Ranges, the snow that falls here is light, dry, and makes for some of the world’s best skiing.
