b) Dinner for delegates, guests and partners –Wednesday, 5 June 2024 at 18:30 for 19:00 in the Flamingo Casino Conference Room, Kimberley

c) Registration of delegates and guests –Thursday, 6 June 2024 from 07:00 at the entrance to the Flamingo Casino Conference Room, Kimberley .

• No lunch will be served; only a brunch from 09:30 to 10:15 .

• Congress starts promptly at 08:00

d) Special Meeting of the RPO NORTHERN CAPE Executive – Thursday, 6 June 2024 directly after adjournment of the Congress.

2. ATTENDANCE OF CONGRESS

It is of the utmost importance that delegates attend the entire session until adjournment and that they report back to their affiliates and members afterwards.

MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIR

Geagte gaste, bedryfsvennote en mede-rooivleisprodusente van die Noord-Kaap:

Dit is weereens ’n absolute voorreg om u vanjaar te verwelkom by die 2024 kongres van die Rooivleisprodusente-organisasie (Noord-Kaap)

Die afgelope 12 maande was sekerlik van die moeilikste tye wat die landbou nog beleef het . Groot gebiede het ver onder die gemiddelde reënval ontvang, uitermatige hoë temperature en verwoestende veldbrande is beleef, en vleispryse het gedaal tot vlakke van ’n paar jare gelede, gepaardgaande met verhoogde insetkoste.

Ek wil u as rooivleisprodusente salueer vir jul geloof, hoop, uithouvermoë en veerkragtigheid om hierdie reuse struikelblokke te oorkom en nog steeds jul organisasie finansieel en andersins te ondersteun.

Daar gaan weer geleenthede wees en ons as produsente moet meer doelgerig boer, streef na meer volhoubare produksie en gereed wees om die nuwe markgeleenthede te benut .

Kom neem deel aan die kongres Ons sien uit daarna om u te verwelkom .

It is once again my absolute privilege to welcome you to this year’s Red Meat Producers’ Organisation (Northern Cape) 2024 congress

The past 12 months were probably the most difficult we have ever experienced . Large areas received far below average rainfall, extremely high temperatures and devastating veldfires. Meat prices declined to levels of a few years ago, accompanied by an increase in input costs .

I wish to salute you as red meat producers for your faith, hope, perseverance and resilience in overcoming these massive challenges and still continuing to support your organisation financially and otherwise.

There will again be opportunities and we should farm more purposefully, strive for more sustainable production, and be prepared to make use of new market opportunities.

Come and join us. We look forward to welcoming you at the congress .

Prosedure vir benoeming en verkiesing van die RPO Noord-Kaap voorsitter en vise-voorsitter

Die RPO NOORD-KAAP Kongres kies by volstrekte meerderheid van die aantal stemme uitgebring deur stemgeregtigdes aanwesig op die Kongres, ‘n Voorsitter uit die lede van die Kongres waarna hy/sy die amp beklee tot na afloop van die Kongres wat volg op die een waarop hy/sy verkies was, met dien verstande dat tydens sodanige verkiesings, al die stemgeregtigde lede teenwoordig by wyse van geslote benoemings- en stembriefies moet nomineer en stem, en dat die volgende reëls geld:

(a) Daar moet minstens een (1) benoeming vir ‘n kandidaat wees, soos aangedui op die voorgestelde benoemingsvorm, onderteken deur die voorsteller en ‘n sekondant, asook deur die benoemde om te bevestig dat hy of sy beskikbaar is en ‘n verklaring van voorneme aanvaar, waarna al die benoemdes op ‘n kandidaatlys geplaas word, met dien verstande dat ‘n benoemde ook vooraf skriftelik toestemming tot benoeming kan gee indien hy of sy nie die Kongres kan bywoon nie;

(b) Indien meer as een persoon benoem word, word daar gestem, en indien ‘n kandidaat ‘n volstrekte meerderheid behaal, word hy of sy as verkose verklaar;

(c) Daar word herhaaldelik soos hierbo gestem totdat ‘n kandidaat ‘n volstrekte meerderheid behaal, waarna hy of sy as verkose verklaar word, of indien daar vir die laaste twee kandidate ‘n staking van stemme is, sal die lot beslis.

Procedure for nomination and election of the RPO Northern Cape chair and vice chair

The RPO NORTHERN CAPE Congress elects a chairperson by way of an absolute majority of the votes cast by voting members present at the Congress. The chair shall remain in office until after the congress following the one at which he/she had been elected, provided that all the voting members present at such congress shall nominate and vote per closed nomination letter and ballot and that the following rules shall apply:

(a) Each candidate must receive at least one nomination as indicated on the proposed nomination form, signed by the introducer and a seconder, as well as by the nominee to confirm that he or she is available and accepts a declaration of intent, after which all the nominees shall be placed on a candidate list, provided that a nominee may also give written permission beforehand if he/she is unable to attend the congress;

(b) If more than one person is nominated voting shall take place, and if a candidate receives an absolute majority of votes, he or she shall be declared elected;

(c) The above process shall be repeated until a candidate receives an absolute majority of votes, after which he or she shall be declared elected, or in the event of a tie in respect of the last two candidates, lots shall be cast.
