Krynica-Zdrój is a popular resort in the south of Poland, on the border between the Beskid Sądecki and the Low Beskids. Although it was created several hundreds years ago as a village under the Vlach law by the Kryniczanka Stream, thanks to its mineral waters, it quickly developed into an attractive resort. Great artists and famous personalities visited the place for many years. Krynica lies at the foot of Jaworzyna Krynicka (1,114 m) and is surrounded by Beskid forests. Park Mountain (742 m) towers over Deptak (a promenade). This location creates an exceptional climate and gives a lot of possibilities for
hiking and doing sports, either winter or summer ones. It constitutes a great starting point if you want to hit panoramic hiking and cycling trails. You may also go for a walk along a path in the treetops or climb a panoramic platform. In the town itself, you can admire spa architecture including wooden villas, the modern Mineral Water Pump Room and interesting museums. This popular spot is a great tourist base – you will find accommodation of various standards and numerous restaurants there. The most interesting are the regional ones where you can get to know the taste of Krynica.
Arcadia in Krynica
Krynicy-Zdrój offers magnificent views, fresh air and mineral water. However, these are not all of its advantages. In Piłsudski Street, is a peaceful and quiet neighbourhood there is Silesia – the Centre of Recreation and Rehabilitation. It is an arcadia for everybody who seeks relaxation. The place combines mountain views, a possibility of rest and regeneration and amazing attractions
for everybody. There is no need to talk about the comfort of the place as its motto says ‘From love to hospitality’ which should encourage everyone to stay at the place. Rooms designed in a modern style, a swimming pool, a dry sauna, an entertainment area, professional rehabilitation facilities, a sunny terrace and delicious cuisine is just a small part of what the place has to offer.
Cosy rooms
100 rooms and 4 modern apartments await guests. In total there are 220 accommodation places in 1-, 2- and 3-person rooms, two-bedroom family studios with a bedroom and a living room and spacious apartments equipped with everything necessary in a villa right next to the centre. The colours of every apartment are reflected
in their names – there is the Crimson, the Emerald , the Honey and the Navy Apartment. The hosts have also prepared a room adjusted to the needs of people with impairments. Those who value luxury and privacy can choose delux rooms with a private terrace. There is a private bathroom in every room.
Regeneration
Nowadays plenty of people work under constant pressure, have a sedentary lifestyle and overburden their organisms in a variety of ways. What is more, they forget to recuperate and rest. Silesia is a perfect place where one can take care of themselves and their relatives. It is worth staying there longer to take advantage of rehabilitation packages offered by the centre. Rehabilitation stays include treatments in the field of physiotherapy with the use of light, electric current, magnetism, ultrasounds or low temperature which will trigger biological processes.
Hydrotherapy is recommended to healthy people to increase their immunity or reduce stress. What is more, it will also serve great in people who suffer from various heart problems, diseases of the circulatory, and the nervous system or pain. Rehabilitation holidays last 14 days. There are also 7-day intensive ones for those who lack time. The stays include accommodation and full board based on local products, nursing care, professional treatments conducted by well-qualified staff and a possibility of renting sports equipment.
An entertainment area
The centre offers a number of places thanks to which we will spend time in an interesting way. There is the biggest swimming pool in Krynica-Zdrój for amateurs of swimming. A dry sauna is at guests’ disposal as well. After some physical activity, guests can relax on a sunny terrace lying on a comfortable deck chair. If you feel like
drinking some coffee and reading a book, head for a cafe where the Area of the Bookworm is located. The Entertainment Area is prepared for game enthusiasts – there are billiards, table tennis, table football, game and card tables and board games. Last but not least, there is the Area of Troublemakers for the youngest guests.
