THE CHAIR OF THE BACHELOR OF MUSIC PROGRAMME

Congratulations on your successful audition for the PGVIM 2021 academic year. I would like to welcome you to the Princess Galyani Vadhana Institute of Music—your home for the next few years as you take your first step into a professional music career.

From your audition videos and examinations, I know that each of you is unique, with individual musical experiences and backgrounds. Wherever you come from, however, we share the love of music. Unfortunately, we also share our experiences of facing a dangerous disease, which has been ongoing for almost two years. There is no better lesson than this to demonstrate that the outside world still plays a big role in the musical world. Luckily, we musicians can also influence the world at large, making it a better place for everyone. At PGVIM, you will learn not only how to be an excellent musician but also how your art can help in shaping the society you live in. I wish you all the best during your stay at our School.
