A very warm welcome to KTJ Primary’s Key Stage 2 production of ‘The Jungle Book’! We are delighted to have you with us this evening for what promises to be a wonderful show. We are especially honoured to welcome our school trustee and friend of the School, Yang Amat Mulia Tunku Dara Tunku Tan Sri Naquiah Binti Tuanku Ja’afar and her husband Yang Mulia Tunku Kecil Besar Tunku Datuk Mudzaffar bin Tunku Mustapha, whose presence makes this occasion even more special.

Tonight’s performance is the culmination of weeks of dedication and teamwork from our talented students, whose enthusiasm and hard work have brought this famous story to life. I am certain that many parents will feel a deep sense of pride as they watch their children shine on stage.

I would also like to extend my heartfelt thanks to our incredible staff for their tireless efforts in guiding the production and to our parents for their ongoing support.

We hope you enjoy this enchanting journey into the jungle as much as our staff and students have enjoyed preparing it for you!

A note from the Directors: Ms. Anna, Ms. Simy and Mr. Liam

Welcome to this year ’ s Primary School ‘Winter Production’. There is always a certain amount of pressure that comes with choosing a show. Will the students know it? Will they even like it? Will enough students want to be involved?

Thankfully, our choice of ‘The Jungle Book’ meant the answer to the above questions was a resounding yes!

We believe the expressive arts should play a major role in the experience of students at KTJ and made two changes from previous years to support thisfirstly, auditions for lead roles were opened up to all students in KS2 rather than just Year 6. Secondly, a production CCA was offered for the first time to allow those who wanted to be involved, but not necessarily on stage, to be so.

This has meant a cast of over 50 with lead roles given to students across Years 3 to 6 and a core team of students, led by Ms. Amy, who has been responsible for creating all of the masks in tonight's performance alongside much of the scenery.

Tonight's performance would not have been possible without the support of our Primary School staff and we would like to extend a huge thank you to all of them with two special mentions; to Ms. Amy who has led on the creation of the masks and Ms. Vetha, who has spearheaded the creation of set, props and costume.

‘The Jungle Book’ sees Mowgli trying to find his place, Baloo and Bagheera offering lots of advice and characters searching for a sense of togetherness. It has been a privilege to watch the students do this as well, as they have developed their performances, grown in confidence and built a fantastic comradery between themselves.

We want to thank each and every member of the cast and production team for their commitment and enthusiasm over the last few months.

We hope you enjoy the performance.
