KEY INFORMATION

WHENDOCCAsTAKE PLACE?

When you sign up for CCA you will be able to see the day and time it is scheduled, and this will show in your personal calendar on SOCS. CCAs are scheduled into one of these slots:

07:00-09:00 13:15-14:25 16:30-17:30 17:30-18:30

WHEREDOIGOFORMY CCA?

HOWMANYCCAsCANI DO?

CCAs take place across the school site. The location of each CCA will be included in the information provided at sign-up, and will also appear in your SOCS calendar

The great news is you can sign up for as many CCAs as you like, but you need to be responsible for managing a balance between your academic studies and other commitments.

Students in Forms 1 and 2 must sign up for at least 3 CCAs each week, 2 of which must be ‘Sport’ CCAs.

All other students must do at least 2 CCAs each week.

DOIPAYFORCCAs?

The majority of CCAs are free, but some specialist CCAs do have a charge to cover additional expenses such as transport, facilities or certification. You will be able to see which CCAs have an additional cost during sign-up, and this will be added to your account.

CCA SIGNUP

CCAs are organised and managed through the SOCS system, including the sign up process.

Students click on the ‘Pupil’ button to access the system using their school account details.

Parents can also access SOCS through Parent Portal.

When you are in the system, CCAs are organised by days and timeslots. You will only see the CCAs you are eligible for

For example, click on ‘Monday After School’ to see all the CCAs that take place on Mondays between 07:00 and 09:00.

Select the CCAs you would like to do in each slot, indicating your order of preference if there is more than one CCA in that list you are interested in.

You must select ‘No CCA’ in every timeslot - either as your last ‘preference’ or as the only choice from that group (or it will allocate you a CCA)

The system ensures a fair distribution of preferences, so will mostly get your first choice or be prioritised next time for that CCA.

WILL THERE BE SOMETHING OF INTEREST TO ME?

There is a huge range of CCAs to choose from, so we have grouped them into 7 broad categories:

A Message from the Director of Sport

Dear Students and Parents,

I am delighted to welcome you to another exciting year of sport at KTJ

Our co-curricular sports programme offers something for everyone, and I encourage every student to take part. Whether you want to enjoy an activity for fun, represent KTJ in competition, or push yourself to perform at the highest level, there is a place for you here

To make sure every student finds the right fit, our programme is built around three levels of participation:

Recreational: Perfect for those who want to stay active, have fun, and develop skills in a relaxed, friendly environment

Competition: For students eager to improve their game and represent KTJ in fixtures and tournaments against other schools

Performance: Designed for high-performing athletes with the drive to excel, offering specialist coaching and advanced training opportunities

Engaging in sport brings benefits far beyond the playing field Regular physical activity improves focus, energy, and mental well-being, which in turn supports strong academic performance It builds resilience, confidence, and teamwork skills that will serve you well throughout school and in every stage of life

This year, I challenge you to get involved, try something new, and make the most of the incredible opportunities on offer Together, let’s make sport at KTJ a source of pride, enjoyment, and achievement for all
