INTRODUCTION
Measurements are one of the most important parts of mechanical engineering. Details should be measured during the manufacturing process, perform final measurements after production, process the obtained results statistically. The connecting dimensions are controlled during assembly. It is necessary to evaluate the accuracy of the control device, possible errors. Constructors and designers specify product requirements in drawings, which must be read properly by both manufacturers and quality controllers. The specific concepts learned in this discipline allow mechanical and manufacturing engineers to communicate and collaborate with each other around the world.
It is important to acquaint students with various measurement methods and tools, to give them the opportunity to try them in practice. During these laboratory works, students learn to evaluate the applicability and accuracy of the measuring device, use it to measure the desired parameters, and analyze the results obtained.

Until a few decades ago, measuring instruments were mostly mechanical, with a lot of work to be done by a human being. With the development of various technologies, measuring and control devices are made more and more accurate, and additional electronics expand their possibilities of use. This booklet is a supplemented edition of “Measurement Theory and Practice: Laboratory Work”, published in 2006. It contains three updated and two new job descriptions. They are developed by supplementing the laboratory with new equipment and in order to acquaint students with modern measurement technologies.
