CADETS
Our School’s 1,100-strong Cadet Unit, the largest in Australia, has been an integral part of Knox tradition since its inception in 1929, providing exceptional opportunities for boys to take on responsibility and demonstrate leadership. The Knox Ravenswood Cadet Unit is made up of boys from Knox and girls from Ravenswood School for Girls, providing a unique co-educational leadership opportunity.
Cadets learn self-discipline, survival and field skills and participate in activities such as an annual field camp and parades. Participation in cadets is compulsory for Year 9 students and is optional thereafter.

Senior boys have the opportunity to participate in cultural, language and youth leadership exchanges to destinations including the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Japan, and North America.

Every student has opportunities to make a difference to the lives of others. Cooking a dish for the homeless, fundraising for charity or volunteering for a community organisation, are examples of the opportunities provided through the Knox Social Justice program.

KNOX SPORTS AND AQUATIC ACADEMY
Playing sport is an essential part of every student’s education at Knox. Knox aims to instil lifelong habits in sport and physical fitness.
Whether they are a beginner or an elite athlete looking for a professional pathway, the Knox Sports and Aquatic Academy provides professional coaching, regular training, and opportunities for competition.
x We offer more than 28 traditional and non-traditional sports, both individual and team based.
x Sailing, mountain biking, table tennis and fencing are examples of sports suggested by students.
x Boys and teams are coached by many professional coaches, ensuring they can be the best they can be. All sports have an integrated and sequential-based skill development program.
x Many of our students go on to a career in sport, as a competitor, or in management or sport-related sciences. In addition to our Elite Athlete Program, Knox has established pathways and relationships with clubs and professional organisations to allow boys to develop their sport beyond school.

PERFORMING ARTS
Experience in the performing arts is an essential part of every student’s education at Knox.
Every student learns a musical instrument, and every student has the opportunity to play in an ensemble, learn to dance, take part in a theatre production with nearby sister schools, join a rock band, or play at ceremonial occasions in the Pipes and Drums.
We offer private lessons for more than 30 different instruments. Currently more than 500 students (Years 7-12) are enrolled into private music lessons at Knox. Lessons and practise facilities are provided onsite.
KNOX PERFORMING ARTS CENTRE
The state-of-the-art Knox Performing Arts Centre is the home of music, drama, theatre and the performing arts at Knox.
This facility includes:
x The Wenkart Theatre, a 700-seat multipurpose auditorium for music and theatrical performances, with a large stage, an adjustable orchestra pit, cutting-edge lighting and sound equipment, as well as tiered seating.
x Drama theatre with 165 seats for intimate drama performances and recitals.
x Purpose-built dance studio for traditional and contemporary dance.
x Two dedicated large music rehearsal rooms.
