Launched in 2017, The KNOW Women began as a way to bring more attention to dynamic women doing remarkable things in the Phoenix metro. We knew there were an outstanding number of women impacting the community and making big strides in their industries. Our goal was to get those women out from behind their computer screens and into the public eye. Thus, we created the KNOW Book, a carefully curated publication that would feature vision-led women in a glamorous and authentic style.

As the momentum grew and we recognized the need for more, we launched our Collaborative around the women featured in our KNOW Book. Our mix & mingles soon ensued and we witnessed incredible things happening. We saw our women doing business with each other, creating friendships, supporting each other, collaborating on projects together, and so much more.

What started as a fun project to spotlight women, has turned into a full-blown movement. The KNOW Women has expanded beyond its birthplace of Phoenix, Arizona; its aim is to launch in every major city across the United States and Canada.

ABBY MCDONNELL BEER CITY CROSSFIT “The thing women have yet to learn, is nobody gives you power. You just take it.”

Hard work has never been an option for Abby. Born into the world of entrepreneurship, she learned the power of working to be good at what she loves at a very early age.

With a degree in Business Management and Entrepreneurship, she opened her first fitness facility (South Charlotte

CrossFit ‘10). Mirroring the same business model, she decided to open two more gyms: one in Knoxville, TN – Rocky Top CrossFit (now sold) – and one in Asheville – Beer City CrossFit. The facilities strive to improve the lives of its members & give back to the community by hosting events, which raise funds for causes that resonate with each gym.

All the while, Abby has been raising a family of her own. Her husband, Jeremy, a full time Asheville firefighter and her partner in crime, as well as her two babes, Kinder (5yo) and Wyatt (3yo), are a huge part of her success.

Dr. Erin Stefanacci is a functional medicine practitioner, a chiropractic physician, and a yoga teacher. She opened Carolina Holistic Health in Asheville’s historic Biltmore Village after relocating to North Carolina for its mountains and outdoor lifestyle.

It is here where Dr. Stefanacci looks beyond a patient’s symptoms to find the root cause of their health issues.

Even patients who do not show signs of illness work with Dr. Stefanacci to remain in a state of optimal health. Erin has been a chiropractic patient herself since childhood, but it was her career in the pharmaceutical industry that had a profound impact in her pivoting to a holistic path. CASEY KELLY LMT Casey Kelly is a licensed massage therapist with over a decade of experience. As a Division I swimmer at Clemson University, she was able to see first-hand the benefits of utilizing massage therapy. Competitive athletes push their bodies in a way which can lead to muscle fatigue and tension.

Casey was able to see the benefit of someone providing specialized and focused relief to her fatigued muscles.

She quickly realized she wanted to give others this same relief. This experience helped drive her to attend and graduate from the Southeastern Institute of Neuromuscular Massage to become a massage therapist in 2009. In addition to neuromuscular massage – Casey is a certified Fascial Stretch Therapist.

Casey has lived in Asheville for 5 years with her husband and daughter, Kota.

Tiffany is on a mission to educate and empower women to have peace of mind in avoiding and handling a physical attack. At 20 years old, she fought off an attacker using the only 3 basic techniques she knew. Her attack lit a fire in her, and she did not stop until she earned her 2 different 2nd degree black belts in street-smart self-defense. Tiffany has been speaking and educating on both the techniques and the mindset of self-defense for over 20 years. She is also determined to keep the community safe in another way.

Raquel Kahn has had a love affair with dance for as long as she can remember.

With a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rice University, Raquel worked in various tech and energy roles.

While these 9-5 jobs paid the bills, they never inspired her. So in the beginning of 2017 she decided to leave engineering and pursue a “passion-project;” opening a dance fitness studio. Raquel got into the world of fitness in 2009, but felt that traditional gyms did not serve women particularly well, often making them feel small and uncertain.

A Florida native, Diane obtained her Nursing Diploma at Miami Jackson Memorial School of Nursing and her Bachelor degree in Nursing at University of South Florida. Recently, she became a yoga instructor to give her clients the same energy it provided her as she fought to resolve her own compassion fatigue.

Originally from Chicago, Rina graduated from St. Louis College of Pharmacy and has been a resident of Tampa for nearly two decades.

Her big heart is as obvious as her intelligence, and the Tampa Bay Area is fortunate to have this mover and shaker in its backyard. An active community leader, she learned at a young age that it was her responsibility to make a positive impact. As a successful South Asian woman, she is passionate about making valuable empowerment resources accessible to women of all backgrounds.
