Please note: the dates on the calendar in their newsletter are incorrect. 5 Week Computer Basics course being offered through Plummer Place on Wednesdays beginning October 5th through November 2nd from 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. Sign up for this new course on Computer Basics which will be held at the Blackstone Valley Chamber of Commerce Computer Lab located in the lower level of Linwood Mill. Learn how to set up and use Gmail, use Zoom, Windows, and Microsoft Word, navigate social media and more! $40 for the course, sign up at Plummer Place, space is very limited.
Salmon VNA will be holding a flu clinic at Plummer Place on Thursday, October 6th from 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. Call the center and they will help you register through their online sign-up.
Senator Moore Office Hour: Wednesday, October 12th at 9:30 a.m. Friends of Northbridge Elders invite you to their “Fun FINE Time” Banquet on Friday, October 14th from 4:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Come dance the evening away to the music from MusicMan DJ and enjoy a delicious hot buffet dinner. Tickets are $40 and you can get them at the Plummer Place front desk. Seating is limited, sign up today!

AARP Smart Driver Course: Monday, October 24th and Tuesday October 25th from 9:00 a.m.12:00 p.m. at Plummer Place with instructor Phyllis Masso. Learn proven safety strategies to help keep you safe while on the road. After taking the course, you may even be eligible for a discount on your car insurance. (Consult your auto insurance agent for details). The classroom course is $20 for AARP members and $25 for non-members. Space is limited, register now call Michelle at 508-234-2002. You must attend both days.
Volunteers Needed for Tax Prep: Tax-Aide, a partnership between the IRS and the AARP Foundation, needs volunteer counselors to help low- and moderate-income persons in the community prepare their Federal and Mass State income taxes. Additional positions for site greeters are also available. Volunteers work 4-6 hours per week for the eleven weeks during tax preparation season, February 1st to April 15th. Training for volunteer preparers will start in November, most of the training will be online. Internet access and basic computer skills are necessary. Katelynn Wackell, Care Manager at Tri-Valley, will be at Plummer Place the third Thursday of every month from 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. Katelynn will provide public benefit resources and options. This includes assistance with applications for SNAP, CHAMP, MRC, RAFT and MassHealth. She can also help with housing including subsidized housing applications, tenancy preservation, rental assistance, and congregate housing. Call to make an appointment with Katelynn.

Uxbridge Senior Center October News
The center is located at 36 South Main St., Uxbridge MA 508-278-8622 DIRECTOR NEWS The Senior Work Off Program is seeking interested candidates to apply for the upcoming year. This Program has been put into place in order to assist eligible seniors with the burden of property taxes, while tapping into seniors’ wealth of knowledge and skills.
The cold and snowy weather will be upon us soon. Appointments are available to help folks with Fuel Assistance Applications with SMOC (South Middlesex Opportunity Council). Please call the senior center for more information and make your appointment. Calling All Artists! An Open Medium Studio Day is scheduled for Monday afternoons at 1:30 p.m. for artists to bring in their projects. Feel free to join in with others to see what artistic talents we all share. In addition, Susan Franz will be hosting another 3-part series on Watercolor Classes starting on Monday, October 17th at 1:30 p.m. and each consecutive Monday.
