Dr Latheef, a fully qualified and accredited Consultant Dermatologist based in Leeds and also on the General Medical Council’s (GMC) Specialist Register, is acknowledged for his expertise in conditions relating to the skin, hair and nails. In his practice he sees both children and adults for a expansive variety of skin related conditions including running dedicated Acne, Skin Cancer, Skin Surgery and Allergy clinics as well as a General Dermatology clinic where he sees patients with conditions such as Eczema, Psoriasis, itching, Alopecia, excessive sweating (Hyperhydrosis), Keloid scars and Hidradenitis Suppurativa. He holds the post of Consultant Dermatologist and Allergy specialist at the Leeds Centre for Dermatology, at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, Europe’s largest teaching hospital, recognised as an international centre of excellence for Cutaneous Allergy as well as conditions such as skin cancer, Acne and Rosacea. He is also a Lead Clinician in the Department as well as being an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Leeds and is actively involved in teaching and supervision of medical students and junior doctors in training. Dr Latheef also works as a private Dermatologist in Leeds and holds weekly private clinics for children and adults at two of the largest private hospitals in the UK, at the Nuffield Health Hospital in the centre of Leeds as well as at the Spire Hospital in Roundhay, Leeds. He is also the preferred Dermatologist for a number of high profile sports teams in the region as well as other corporate and celebrity clients in addition to seeing international patients from various parts of the world who fly in to Leeds. At Sword SA, the focus is on process automation and cloud integration. Our integration platform is based on Billetterie® Software. The digitisation platform focuses on service processes, linking front-end services to back-end systems and cloud resources. The platform integrates business processes and workflows for collaboration, case management and service level management. Billetterie® is a product platform developed by Sword SA. It is derived from the Sword Group’s collaborative effort and years of experience in process automation and enterprise content management. Located in both Johannesburg and Paris, the development team collaborated to incorporate global experience in the design and enhancement of the software platform. Our software and professional services teams have partnered with different organisations in the private and public sectors to develop and deploy service digitisation solutions. The Billetterie® Platform is a codeless automation workbench for service processes. It has native modules for service automation, knowledge management, performance management, user management. Over the years, standard workflows have been developed for customer service management, IT service management, intellectual property administration and law firm practice management. The automation service is user-driven and implementable without a need for expensive technical skills. API Management Billetterie® API management allows bespoke and third-party solutions to be programmatically integrated to the service management system. The platform is succinctly designed to integrate third party APIs from various technologies for example, the SnapLogic iPaaS that provides an enabling layer that is used to integrate public and private resources to the Billetterie® service management engine. The integration points are defined flexibly. Data and content exchanges between the Billetterie® Platform and other systems take place in real-time or asynchronously. For instance, a service request may be initiated from a CRM process, passed on to Billetterie® for resource allocation and service level management. The resolution of the service request may necessitate a further integration to a legacy ERP system for resolution and a financial
The South African Commission for Intellectual Property & Companies (CIPC) was the first major user of the integrated platform in 2014. The platform enabled the seamless integration of the client services to the back-end processes of IP administration, comprising new application, renewal, restoration and deregistration services. The system has since been enhanced to include modules for performance and knowledge management as well as a chat robot, to support users navigating the system portals and access relevant knowledge. Beyond the automation workflows of the national office systems for intellectual property management, standard workflows have been developed for IT service management, customer service management and law firm practice. The organisation utilised Billetterie Software as a self-service portal to give 30,000+ clients 24×7 access to critical information, processes, and services, whilst being serviced by more than 600+ service respondents (users) through seamlessly created prioritised workflows at the back-end, on a multitiered service model. “We recognized that the status quo was not sustainable,” said Elena Zdravkova, senior manager of the company’s Patent & Design practice. “If we wanted to support our clients in transforming IP rights management and filing, we had to transform our internal IT and business operations.”. Sword SA was engaged to assist with the digitisation of manual processes and elevate the organisation towards cloud-based computing. This allowed the organisation to create an online community of users, empower them with service management features and the ability to drive service-level compliant deliverables.

Our mission is that Centre for the Future of Places, aside from becoming an International Hub for Research on Public Space & Beyond, doing studies on the subject from a global perspective, also becomes a clearing house for ideas and new proposals on how the cities should be planned, designed, and retrofitted best to meet both today’s and tomorrow’s challenges with the focus on public places and urban spaces.
The task of the Centre is to take a holistic approach in defining, classifying and establishing the public space as an independent academic research field. This means that the center will systematically link together knowledge from all disciplines related to the field of public space, such as urban planning, urban design, environmental psychology, urban sociology, architecture, urban economics, human geography and others. The focus on public space will serve as a cross-disciplinary framework to merge the knowledge from the different disciplinary silos; thus creating links between the experts within them, to create a holistic understanding of the city that serves as the basis for practical and effective action, which will require extensive international cooperation. The International Centre for the Future of Places has an extensive global network of leading scholars in the field and organizes conferences, symposiums, lectures, talks, seminars and meetings of world class.

Elm Cottage, Tumut, is the brainchild of Deborah and David Sheldon. Developed from an overstocked, drought ravaged 62-acre parcel of land in 2003, the establishment has since morphed into a thriving, much sort-after rural retreat for both the domestic and international visitors. David discusses how the establishment has flourished since he and Deborah first created the concept. “When we first planned Elm Cottage we believed it would be the ideal base camp for potential guests to discover the magnificent Snowy Mountains and Riverina Regions. However, it has become for many of our guest’s their holiday destination, hence our vision and philosophy “The Elm Cottage experience is ever evolving”. At present, five cottages have been developed, with the latest ‘Yellow Box’ fitted out for the use of those with mobility issues, as well as acting as a unique small business events facility or wedding reception venue.” Alongside its exceptional range of facilities, Elm Cottage also provides welcoming, friendly hospitality so that guests feel relaxed throughout their stay, as David highlights. “From the moment they arrive, we aim to offer guests an exceptional experience that will stay with them for many years to come. If they arrive during daylight hours, Elm Cottage has a reception area at the main house where guests are greeted and for first timers escorted to their cottage and provided with a familiarisation tour. If guests arrive after dark they are advised to proceed directly to their cottage and relax, the lights are turned on and the reverse cycle air conditioning is on. We then catch up with them in morning. We are available 24hrs a day so that they never have to want for anything. “Fundamentally, we at Elm Cottage believe that, as it is it is our guest’s holiday we should provide an obtrusive service, which our guests appreciate. We are available if they require assistance, otherwise their holiday or break is uninterrupted. The cottage facilities and fit out are of the highest quality,
whilst maintaining a rustic charm. When over 60% of your guests are repeat visitors and the average length of stay is over five days, you must be doing something right! I believe we offer all the creature comforts of home and provide an ideal sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of city life.” Although tranquillity and peaceful surroundings are what guests look for when they visit Elm Cottage, Deborah and David are conscious that they also require all the modern comforts of home. Having experienced burnout – and a complete breakdown – personally, I know what it is like to experience what I can only describe as a ‘bone-deep’ exhaustion. And not just an ‘I missed a few nights sleep and now I’m tired’ kind of exhaustion ... but the kind that is mentally, emotionally and physically debilitating. I knew I was unwell. I knew I was exhausted. I knew I needed to make some changes. But I did nothing and pushed on anyway. And then, I broke spectacularly. It took me three years to recover to a point where I knew who I was, what I wanted to be doing in the world and how I wanted to be doing it. This was the catalyst to founding sheIQ Life. The more my work goes into the world and reaches people from all different walks of life and in all different corners of the globe, the more I understand that this is such a common theme running through so many people’s lives.
We give everything we have to everyone around us. We don’t ever stop to consider – or understand – what that means for our own emotional, physical and mental wellbeing.

Until recently, it’s been a taboo subject to talk about. But thanks to the World Health Organisation redefining burnout in May 2019 – and the global pandemic bringing mental health firmly into focus – stress and burnout are now being openly spoken about. Globally, stress, exhaustion and burnout are rapidly rising, and the stats show that women are the most likely to suffer from them.
That’s where my work comes in. It goes beyond the generic solutions that have been offered for too long. I don’t have answers for an individual’s specific problems – how could I? I don’t know all the things that go together to make them the unique individual that they are. What I do have, however, is a set of principles, tools and activities that allow individuals to understand themselves and create the solution that is perfect for them. This has created one of the greatest complexities for my organisation because I am unique in what I offer. It’s meant that I have needed to create tools and resources that can be delivered in a ‘one to many’ format whilst still allowing individual customisation by the end user. When people get access to my resources, their ability to grow and develop is accelerated because they’re able to take those resources and create a customised solution that matches what they actually need. There are two massive issues that individuals face when it comes to reducing the impact of stress, exhaustion and burnout in their lives. The first: almost every individual relies on the organisation they work for to provide them with training and development that will help them to reduce their stress. This is a problem because on the whole, the providers of these types of training tend to deliver it in a group format that doesn’t help the individual to find their own answers. The second: everyone’s been taught to rely on others to tell them what their problems are. They spend so much time, and waste so much money, doing what someone else tells them is right for them.
There is no cookie-cutter approach that works for everyone. Each person is a unique and extraordinary individual. They need unique and extraordinary answers and solutions. My work helps solve both these problems; it allows organisations to provide training in a group format, but the tools can be individualised by each person. This allows them to find their own answers and create their own solutions.

And it is crisis proof. While most of the world has collapsed under the strain of the chaos created by the pandemic, my business (and me within it) easily did the opposite. Because I operate from a simple platform, I didn’t have high levels of stress coming into the pandemic; I was fully fuelled and ready to go. I was already operating in the online environment, so I moved more of my focus there and created bespoke online programs and keynotes, spending far less time in the face-to-face environment. Instead, I stepped into creating products, resources and tools that would assist people in re-centring their lives and being able to move forward in a different way.
