Welcome to the 3rd KMA Young Doctor Network Conference at the Noble Hotel Eldoret

On behalf of the Kenya Medical Association (KMA) Eldoret Division, I humbly welcome you to Eldoret the city of champions in Uasin Gishu County, Kenya. It is indeed a privilege and honor to have you participate in this conference so feel at home.

The Theme of the conference “Activating Health Systems change to improve physician well-being” was born out of the numerous challenges faced by health providers in line of duty. This was experienced more during the covid-19 pandemic and it manifested in the form of increased mental and psychosocial challenges among doctors, Financial challenges, Legal and regulatory frame work issues and work environment issues. It is our sincere hope that most of these issues will be discussed in the conference and the participants would have been helped to become Healthy Physicians in a healthy work environment.

Eldoret town is full of very modern Hospitals and health institutions including Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital which is a national referral Hospital. We also have Moi University Medical School. In view of the many Health facilities in Eldoret, we have a very high density of doctors who reside in Eldoret and they are more than two hundred in number.

Most of the world class athletes reside in Eldoret town and its neighborhood. We hope that you will get a chance to interact with Mr. Eliud Kipchoge the world Marathon champion and also get a chance to visit his training camp in Kaptagat.
