I would like to call your attention to the outstanding flooring installation work done by your company. My wife and I were highly impressed with your installers friendly
and accommodating attitude, their great work ethic, and the considerable skill they employed while installing our flooring. We think you are fortunate to have such professional installation department; they clearly stand head and shoulders above the other tradesmen we’ve encountered over the

Spring is in the air
Tulips are blooming, birds are singing and K&L Media celebrated with our first Spring Makeover Contest. The contest was open to all readers and the response was great; readers wrote in with inspirational stories about themselves, a loved one or a friend. Our editorial staff then had the pleasure of sifting through the entries and choosing the five winners. Some lost weight, others were single parents and some had never seen the inside of a salon more than three times in their life. It was a wonderful process that brought a lot of smiles and laughter to the contest winners and our staff.
Turn to page 42 to see our winners transform with before and after photos.
The generosity from local businesses was amazing when they heard about our contest. Our winners received a complete makeover including outfits, manicure, pedicure, new haircut, style and color as well as a makeup session for the ladies. It was a great day that was topped off with a photo shoot in the studio of Bellingham photographer Ryan Duclos. Some were comfortable in front of the camera, others brought a shyness that was refreshing and heartwarming as we watched them warm up to the camera and the process. A warm thanks as well to our makeover sponsors who donated services and clothing for the contest. Turn to page 42 to see our winners transform with before and after photos. In keeping with spring, we have included the first insertion of the Couture Weddings publication into the magazine. We delight you with visual displays of real weddings, floral inspirations and edible treats. If you know someone who is getting married pass along the website address coutureweddingsmag.com and they can download their own free digital edition. Lastly, if you haven’t heard, we have gone digital with the magazine. If you are a current subscriber and want a digital edition as well, call the office with your email and we will add you to our list. If you want to subscribe to the digital edition, visit northsoundlife.com and click on subscribe in the upper right-hand corner. It can save you money and help the environment all at the same time. What a great way to celebrate Earth Day on April 22. Above all, as always, enjoy reading this issue!

Letters to the Publisher
To the wonderful staff at Bellingham Alive – Aloha & Mahalo! What a wonderful blessing! We just returned from our fantastic vacation to Waikiki, thanks to you. We enjoyed wonderful warm, sunny weather, beautiful beaches and rainforests. We did many touristy things also thanks to the great bus system. We renewed our vows and are ready to celebrate our next 22 years of marriage. Mahalo! James & Mary Jansky 2011 Bellingham Alive/Alaska Airlines Hawaiian vacation winners I received your magazine yesterday in the mail with the article with our home featured in it. What a nice magazine and article. The magazine is every bit as nice as Seattle Magazine, maybe even better. Jean Brown Freeland
In 25 years of being a PT I’ve had the honor of contributing to various publications. Bellingham Alive actually supported the creation of an article that was friendly, comfortable and representative of an integrationist approach to pelvic floor rehab. This was just plain fun and you have a fan in me, both as a professional as well as a reader. You rock – plain and simple! With gratitude, Elizabeth Hampton Core Physical Therapy
