Welcome Home After seemingly being left out of the active local real estate market over the past several years, the luxury market segment in the Central Shenandoah Valley experienced quite a rebound.

We define luxury homes as homes priced at $400,000 and above, and in 2018, 186 luxury homes sold in Rockingham and Augusta Counties. This total is 33% higher than the 140 luxury homes sold in 2017, and significantly more than the 2016 and 2015 totals of 118 and 114 homes, respectively. Through the first six months of 2019, activity in this market segment continues to increase, with 98 homes sold. Although there is still an excess of inventory in the higher price ranges, the increasing sales over the past 18 months is beginning to bring balance to this unique market segment.
