1. N CREATING EW USERS: AN GETTING ACCOUNT IN THE KWL HUB STARTED Follow these 3 easy steps: 1. Create your account using a Class Code 2. Add your D1A Code 3. Add the purchased Book Access Code 1.1 CREATE YOUR ACCOUNT If this is your first time using The KWL Hub, create an account.

Accept the Privacy Agreement The first time you log in, click on the blue bar to accept the agreement. If you do not click to agree, you will be logged out automatically.

1.2 ADD YOUR D1A CODE To view your books and complete assignments, you need to enter a Day 1 Access Code or a Book Access Code.

❗Note: Please reach out to your instructor for the Class Code and the Day 1 Access code if you have not received them.

Your Day 1 Access Code will always: • •

Start with “D1A”

Include your university name and semester: Example: D1A_Klett_University_FA2025

Go to your Profile page and click on Book and Class Code.

Select the Book Access Code bubble. Enter the D1A Code in the box and click Add.

❗ IMPORTANT: D1A codes are temporary. Be sure to add your purchased

book access code before the D1A expires to continue viewing your book and completing assignments.

Need to buy a Book Access Code? Ask your instructor about purchasing options at your institution.

You’re all set! You should now have access to your book and assignments.

2. EXISTING USERS: GETTING STARTED If you already have a KWL Hub account from a previous course or academic term, use the checklist below to get set up for your new class.

1 Log in to your existing account: •

Go to klettlp.com

Do not create a new account.

Log in using your existing account

2 Add Your new Class Code: • •

Go to your Profile page and click on Book and Class Code Select the Class Code bubble. Then enter your class code in the box and click Add.

3 Set Up Your Book Access: •

Check if you have any Active Book Access Codes 1.

Go to your Profile page and click Book Access Code.

Locate active Book Access Codes, along with their start and expiration dates, at the bottom of the page.

If needed, add your Day 1 Access Code

❓ Forgot your login info? Contact the KWL Support team for help.

💡 Your instructor will provide the Class Code. If you don’t have it yet, reach out to your instructor.

🔎 Do you need a new Book Access Code?

Check the expiration date of your previous code. If it is valid through the end of the current term, you’re all set!

If you need a different book or if your previous code has expired, check with your instructor to see if a temporary Day 1 Access code is available before purchasing a new code.

❗ IMPORTANT: D1A codes are temporary. Be sure to add your

purchased book access code before the D1A expires to continue viewing your book and completing assignments

3. HOW TO VIEW YOUR BOOK 1

Click on Library in the menu bar

Find your book. To open it, click on the cover or on Open Book.

That’s it! You’re ready to start exploring your book.

View your textbook

Play video and listen to audio

4.HOW TO VIEW AND COMPLETE ASSIGNMENTS 1

On the Assignments page, you’ll find the following sections: •

Upcoming assignment

•

Missing

•

Submitted

•

Graded

Each assignment card includes the following details: •

Due date and time (if set)

•

Title of the assignment

•

Number of questions in the assignment

•

Time limit set by the teacher (if applicable)

Assignments can be sorted by Due Date, Assigned Date, or alphabetically by Title.

Click on Assignments in the top menu

Go to Upcoming Assignments

Click Start to open the assignment overview.

Then click Start Assignment to begin.

Click VALIDATE to check and record your response. Be sure to click this button before going to the next activity.

Click the arrow to open this sidebar.

The Activity Map shows the number of activities in this assignment.

Check the Activity Map to make sure you completed all activities in the assigment.

Click SUBMIT to send the assignment to your teacher

❗ Note: If your teacher allows multiple attempts, make sure to click VALIDATE after each attempt to check your answers and save your

progress in each activity.. Be sure to use all your attempts before submitting the assignment, because once you submit it, you won’t be able to try again

5. COMMON ISSUES 1

Problem: You can log in but do not have access to books and content.

You need a D1A code or Book Access Code

Solution: You need a D1A code or your Book Access Code. D1A grants you temporary access during your school’s add/drop period. Remember to add your regular Book Access Code to extend your access to the book and your class assignments.

Problem: I have access to my book, but cannot see my class assignments.

You need a Class Code

Solution: You need a class code. Please contact your instructor to receive the class code for this course. Enter your class code in your account.
