Preparing for the Unknown Klein Oak Football 2020
PREPARING FOR THE UNKNOWN 2020 Klein Oak Football
Yes, the first preview game is just around the corner, but this is a year of COVID and no one knows from day to day how high school football – Klein Oak football will actually play out this year. Right now at the time of printing this issue, the football season is slated to kick off the end of August or first of September. But if anything this virus has taught us, things can change at the drop of a hat or daily infection numbers going up.

We need to face some facts. This years football won’t be the same as last years, in fact it will most lightly be completely different from past games and years. Maybe the stands will be empty. Maybe the band won’t play at half time or the cheerleaders will stay spread out. It will be different, but it will still be football and a team we all want to win.
Believe it or not, this isn’t the first time football, high school
and college has been interrupted. During World War II games were canceled and Galveston Ball High lost a whole season during the storm of 1900. The same may happen this year. Some teams may start late, some may never even suit up and some, we hope will make the season a success. But one thing we need to understand and prepare for – football this year will be a day to day schedule and what we start out with, probably won’t be the way we end the season. Let’s just be thankful that in some shape or form, we will most likely have high school football. We just need to brace ourselves for the reality that it will be different this year but our high school players still need our encouragement and support. So no matter how the games are played or how full the stadium is, let’s rally behind our Klein Oak Panthers and make this a great year of football. h
