Program: Design a retreat located at the Bonneville Salt Flatts, Utah, including 6 bedrooms, each with a bathroom, a check-in/service counter, and one kitchen including an eating/gathering space. Bonneville Motel: The juxtaposition of vertical and horizontal translated into one experience. The project developed from the simple line parti below which repersents both the horizon and the mountain. The structure is constructed of vertical and horizontal planes that are abrstractions of the dominant landscape features visible, these come together to create the form and the experience.

Program: Develop a bicycle collaboritive in downtown Portland that is woven into the existing strip of park in the Pearl District and is bike-able.
Bespoke Bicycle Collective Continuing the Park
Portland, OR Instructor: Daniel Hoffman Spring 2012
Bicycle Collective/Park Continuation: The inhabitants of the city of Portland are at the forefront of custom bike building, however many artists have different specialties. The focus of this project is to provide a space for several artists to colloborate. The form directs the focus of the collaboration inward yet allows the work to be viewed from the ramp circulating through the space from above, as well as through the exterior glazing. Thus the space becomes a place where tangible art is made through the process of performance art.

Program: Design a 600 square foot seasonal refuge for up to five occupants located near Cherry Peak, UT.
Cherry Creek Warming Hut Richmond, UT Instructor: Libby Haslam Fall 2012
Warming Hut: A breif refuge from the harsh elements is the perfect oasis on a cold winter day at the Cherry Peak Ski Resort. The “saw-tooth” form and orientation of the structure allow mid-morning light into the space while articulating it’s occupants gaze from within. The built-in seating positioned at each window creates private space emulating the solemn and individual feeling of skiing. Additionally orientation of the seating in relation to the view replicates the down-hill directionality of the skiing experience.

Program: Design a 10,000 square foot lodge for multi seasonal use of up to 300 patrons located near Cherry Peak, UT.
Cherry Creek Ski Lodge Richmond, UT With Spencer Anderson Instructor: Libby Haslam Fall 2012
Cherry Creek Ski Lodge: This lodge placed in the pristine woods of Cherry Creek at an existing trailhead is positioned to absorb as much natural sunlight as possible. The form is representational of the intersections found within the context photo which was utilized to create the parti for this project. Within the space the parti more closely replicates the circulation pattern than the form itself, allowing for a simple, orthagonal floor plan.
