Great Growth In County The Randolph Co Economic Development announced that two companies in the county will expand, adding 12 new jobs in Seagrove and 24 new jobs in Liberty, with a combined investment of more than $3,500,000. Ernie Green Industries in Seagrove will add 12 new jobs and invest $240,000 in a new clean room for medical devices production. Ferree Trailers will expand their current 60,000 square foot facility in Liberty, adding 24 new jobs and investing $3,500,000. The Randolph County Board of Commissioners took steps Monday night toward assisting the two projects. Grant applications from the North Carolina Department of Commerce for the two companies, totaling $60,000 for EGI and $300,000 for Ferree, were approved by the Board of Commissioners. Ferree Trailers manufactures flatbed and gooseneck trailers, and EGI produces plastic injection molding products and medical devices. Under the grant's rules, both companies will have 18 months to complete expansions and hiring goals. The new jobs must be retained for six months. If the hiring and retention goals are not met, the companies will be required to repay the loan on a per-job basis, or $12,500 for each job.
