The 2nd annual Martin Luther King Parade will be held on Saturday January 11th in downtown Liberty at 2:00 pm . The Martin Luther King Committee would like to invite you to come and help us celebrate. The Committee would like to invite you to come and celebrate the conclusion of the Martin Luther King Celebration on Sunday January 12th @ 2:30 at The Church Of God Of Prophecy in Liberty 902 Swannanoa Ave in Liberty . Meet Our New Staff Member “Mail Chimp”! Here at Liberty Leader we have heard the numerous replies we need a weekly newspaper in our communities. I wish I could move the magic want and generate enough advertising business and hours to produce a paper copy to hit newsstands each week. That is our goal one day. However in the mean time, starting in January, each Friday an electronic newsletter will be coming out. In this you will find obituaries for the last week, upcoming event reminders for the upcoming week, breaking new stories and general interest stories our of area. You can also advertise in this online electric newsletter. We hope this helps keep our communities connected even more. This brings us to Mail Chimp. His job is to get you these stories. You can visit our website at www.libertynewspaper.org and click on home page and sign up to receive this email each week with the new newsletter. Also this will be a place we send out special event reminders for our area. This is just another new way we are trying to improve our community. So you ask, I do not have an email or I missed a newsletter (or even a past paper issue ), what can I do. Well on our website you can click on ISSUES and there will be links for past issues of all. Keep the ideas coming folks. Also keep the news, stories and events coming. Most of all support all the local business that advertise in the paper. ! They are what cover all the cost to keep this great paper going. Happy New Year and look forward to another great year.
