Observe the given image, and find patterns within the lines and blank space, use those as the foundation of making a 2-D paper into an interesting space.

Developement

Defining lines and areas The definition of blue line is when a line has multi dots on it.

Green′s strips. And red stands for others.

The action of blue line is folding 90 degrees. Greens, develope downward, Reds, is develope upward.

Though with multi layers, the model isn′t over complicate because of the parallel of layers and the orthagonal edge. This keeps the model clean and highlights the beauty of sequence.

Adding details I added more details to the model, using not only the lines, but also other little parts as a opportunity to make the space more meticulous.

Oblique By adding some slope and oblique layers, it made the orthagonal model more interesting, more vivid.

Final Model

Series of vertical beam, making the relatively flat space pop up.

Multiple parallel flat layers, makes the Space rich but static.

The oblique connects different platforms, adding some twist to the orderly space, ideas from earthquake′s fault line.

Eagle The idea of eagle comes from the national emblem of German in WW2.

The association point of the wings and body, the vertebral.

Structure of the joint is exposed when the wings curve.

A ďź‚wingďź‚is composed of three parts, each part is composed of three layers.

The grid on the serface stands for the neat fabric of the sugar cane, from inside to the skin.

The notch stands for sugar cane′s habitat, By water, in wet lands.

Layers stands for sugar cane′s joint.

Using rectangular material and cubic exterior to represent the brick structure of the site.

The metal inside can reflect the light, making grid-like reflection.

The light sorce from inside works too, making interesting reflection and shadow outward.

The metal bars connecting blocks represent the site′s steel, stablizing the structure.

The iron sheet stands for the light shooting through the aperture of the site.

Spinable axis, while turning, the iron will also spin, so does the reflection of light .

From upper elevation, the iron sheet align into a grid, stands for the mosaic glasses.

The iron sheet enlace around, making some elevation unable to see through, only certain angle can, representing the special angle of some bricks in site.

The bricks on top surrounds the edge of the structure.

Unit Eight limbs′ idea comes from Pelagia′s ability to move in various direction, thanks to it′s 8 rhopalia loacated in umbrella′s edge as array. While the movements of the unit comes from the analysis of Pelagia exercising.

The rail in the middle allows the limbs to work smoothly.

There are no top or bottom in this device, it imitates the water in Pelagia, flowing between the two sides through the force of pressure.

While one side relaxes, another contracts.
